Nah Just play 7 and 8, you might get it cheap as a bundle on steam. Sometimes they have a sale. Try metro trilogy, too. Very good games.

yeah 1 & 2 are kinda survival horror and don't have jumpscares and all that, just a very unsettling atmosphere

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is old, but gold. More of a puzzle/horror than adventure/horror game, but the atmosphere combined with the story is phenomenal. Also, custom stories. (The Great Work is arguably as good or better than the original game itself)

It's the same guys that made Amnesia so it's similar in several ways in that regard, but not nearly as dark and scary as Amnesia.

No, it's like an adventure, I think there are almost no monsters It is an immersive game, it is more like exploring but with good narrative, I think like the books of those famous authors, lovecraft maybe, idk I never read one of his books, but some people relate it

Dying light is pretty good but I don't think it's what you're looking for. Go with resident evil. Keep an eye out for dying light later if you want some open world. Dead space was resident sleeper for me.

hard to say, Penumbra series (except Requiem) is a really cool old horror puzzle game from like <2011 but idk if you could get scared or not Amnesia series obviously good too but they may be too scary i still didn't end it but I have played RE7 Biohazard a bit and it was good Prey (the newer game about guy in space) is good pick too Layers of Fear imo starts decent but it gets boring later and its mostly walking sim

So many people recommending RE7 (it's a good game) but i legit felt bit scare in few places (more like uneasy feeling) compared to series like Dying Light and Metro Series. Well all three games are really good so you can't go wrong with any of those. Maybe try P.R.E.Y , It's bit of horror , adventure,mystery, sci-fi (overall a great game with good story)
