Government propaganda at the beginning of the century, many japanese came with the dream of making money off of plantations and getting back to their countries.

Basically its not like in USA where asians are killed just because they're asians, the only thing is that some old dudes might make some unfunny jokes about pp size or small eyes, but there isnt actual racism against Japanese brazilians here

the ones who are able to speak are usually the isseis/nissei (1st/2nd gen) or those who moved to japan in order to work. quite a common thing to do in the community btw, people usually go there, work for a couple of years then comeback buy land and open their own business.

then half of the population is white portuguese+italiand and the other half is mixed/black
