Because he is slowly running out of time. Zywoo still has years in front of him.
Niko missed 1 shot on a map he hard carried them on.
Without Niko, it wouldn't have even been a game to choke because he was single handily carrying them.
Zywoo hasn't even made it past the semi-finals even Sh1ro has been closer to winning a major.
Niko choked to c9 but Zywoo and vitality choked what should have been the easiest path to a major final in history

Niko has had like 30 chances of winning finals and majors with and without G2, yet he didn't win at all bcz he choked alwyas tho xd.
There's a reason why FaZe with Karrigan and rain won a major and the closest G2 was last year in a major was group-stage.
Edit: in fact, rn in Katowice the reason why G2 is winning is jks. Just look at top players as of rn in the event and it's only jks up there.

I'm not talking about major finals a chance at winning a major should be classified as making a deep enough run to actually be a real contender or going in as favourites and losing an example of that would be Liquid in Berlin or Faze in Boston.
Faze were probably the favourite at Rio and they went 0-3 that's blowing an opportunity, especially considering the #2 seed and #3 and #4 seed also had a disappointing major.
Zywoo only really had a chance in Berlin because he had the easiest path imaginable to a major final and the final would've been against Astralis, a team vitality had beaten fairly recently in Cologne. So Zywoo hasn't been denied a major since he's never even been close to winning a major.
Niko threw the Boston major and that's probably the easiest chance he's ever going to get even if he goes on to win one. Stockholm G2 wouldn't have even been a top team without Niko, they shouldn't have been the 2nd best team of the Lan portion of the year.

Not a hater. I understand that he carried G2 to that finals, yet in the end never won a single won of them bcz he or his team choked. That's why I just said that NiKo had hella lot of opportunities and never won any single one of them while FaZe the first finals they reached without NiKo, they won it and AGAINST NiKo nonetheless.
So Idk what you think but if a team with NiKo doesn't win a single finals(except Worlds with only fucking 8 teams), and neither a major final, and you see now in Katowice that NiKo isn't playing at his best(neither at his worst), then the only option that you can think of is that NiKo is a choker and hasn't yet broken that curse.

Vitality have added 2 legendary players and coach who had lots of experiecnce and confidence in tier-1 scene. Then they added probably the top5 rifler at that moment to their roster. And you still say that his team is weak. In comparison, Navi have not made a single transfer since 2019 and are advancing their youth to the roster, but still s1mple is winning big lan events.

Stats doesn't means everything, Simple fragged a lot because his team played for him, they put him in every conditions to make all that frags, he was the rookie starplayer that kills everyone with a shaky crosshair. Nowadays, simple brings much more than kills and all to his team mates, he peeks supps call mid clutches etc, Simple in liquid as nothing to do with simple navi now, zywoo probably will work the same way, he will be stronger in another team such as Faze, must be - Botpreeh, - Botgisk and - bribenic, + Body + Jackz + shox + Xtzzz, and then vita could win french majors with a french team.

Then niko had a really good final, but then whats the point when he failed in such a bad way. What i mean is that guardian always performed while niko completely disappeared against c9 and failed against NaVi. Guardian was let down by his team mostly while niko choked in different ways. Nexa was a decent igl at g2, i think they would have been a very good team if he had m0nesy to work with. Theres not many igls that are great nowadays except karrigan.

Stockholm final was possible for G2 solely because of Niko. Look at his ratings whole major. That nuke heaven shit is overrated af and G2 had many chances to close the map other than that heaven shot. And btw Navi were the heavy favourites and it was Navi's major to lose, not G2's major to win. "Failed miserably" is not even close to what Niko's situation can be said for the Stockholm major.
And btw gaurdian has lost 3 major finals like #81 said

Personally I would define getting to the playoffs as a 'chance'. At that point you are 6-9 maps away.
Being the best team isn't necessarily the win condition for major trophies. We've seen this many many times throughout this games history going back literally to the first major.

I disagree there are some extreme examples like Quantum Bellator Fire in Boston 2018 was not really Boombl4s first chance at winning a major because QBF winning was not a remotely high statistical probability.
I think when there's a high probability you can win is a real chance such as both majors for liquid in 2016 and Berlin (where liquid was the favourite) and tbh Katowice 2019 they had just won the Ibuypowermasters and beat Astralis and were ranked #2 so arguably Elige had 4 or 5. Even London they were probably 2nd favourite.
Zywoos only real chance was Berlin because he should have had the easiest path to a final only having to beat Avangar and Renegades. Pulling off 1 upset is a lot easier to imagine than pulling off 3 like in Stockholm.

their current teams or situations dont define whether they are worthy of a major , their past and consistency does which both have shown time and time again by being 2 of the best and most consistent riflers in last few years , 2 out of 3 NA GOATs, Grand Slam winners , a small window of domination in the scene and just being part of the TIer 1 scene for as long as i can recall.
those reasons constitute both of them to be worthy of the most prestigious prize in our game.

Elige is the best player from NA. His form dropped in 2022 but he's still the best.
This is such a toxic take. Elige has been in this game since 2016, has spent an entire year as the best rifler on the planet and five years in a row just being elite. His peers all say he's one of the hardest working players in the game.
Not that any of that matters mind you. No one "deserves" a major at all. But Elige is far from the worst person to cheer to get one.

I agree "deserving" a major is a weird statement, but he has for sure put in enough to rightfully have won one. But I guess that's why it's so special to win one - it's not enough to just "deserve" it, there are other factors as well. There is an element of timing and luck as well
