They practically play most of time 4vs5 because of karrigan, half of time 3vs5 because of rain
karrigan and rain are not on level of twistzz, ropz and broky, who practically carry this team, but in t1 you cannot be top1 with 3vs5.

G2 isn't top1, it takes way longer to prove (because of variance in short term is huge, b but get smaller on long run and show who is how good etc.) and G2 doesn't have such achievements that you could argue they are top1.
Last year FaZe was by far most successful team when it came to achievements compared to other teams, if G2 achieve similar success compared to others in 2023, then we can call them top1.
I don't say that you have to wait 1 year to confirm it, but at least 4-5 months to see if there is clearly best team, but its same in every sport that in 1 year you clearly see that who was best and which rank everyone deserved.
Sometimes even average or bad teams can do good results short term, but in long term they won't be best, long term show who is the number 1 aka the best. I don't say that G2 couldn't be best team of 2023, but its WAY TOO EARLY to say

power ranking focuses on the most recent performance. just because for example in nba or football some team is on top of the ladder, it doesnt necessarily mean that this team has to be the best at this very moment. they can be easily on lets say 10 games losing streak while there is another team that can be ranked 1-2 spots below them but is on the other hand on 10 games winning streak and defeated that 1st team twice in a row.
in power ranking that team would be definitely top1. on long term ranking they wouldnt...
there are different kind of rankings. all time, season, power ranking etc and if we would talk about power ranking, g2 is definitely the best team in the world at this very moment

wrong, for example "live" HLTV ranking is based on algorithms. In real sports "ranking" is never subjective, there are certain rules what give some amount of points and ranking is based on them, like in Tennis for example. In team sports like football ranking is 100% accurate when they count win, loses, goal differences etc.
there are few exceptions to rule, for example hltv written csgo ranking after each year is somewhat subjective if its written by people, but even then there are data from enough long time to make smart decisions.

I have no good ideas tbh. -rain +XANTARES sound really really good for me but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to replace a 28 years old guy with a 27 and I'm afraid the turk's english is not good enough to communicate perfectly. I'm not even sure that I'd -rain tbh. Probably not. I think it's karrigan's time to go. I notice that nowadays FaZe has close to 0 proper plan in rounds, they rely on 3 (sometimes 4 with rain) very exceptional players individual skills. There are no 500iq karrigan moments anymore. Every round we scream ROPZ!!! TWISTZZ!!! BROKY!!!! RAIN!!! because there are barely any teamplay now in Faze. But If you'd ask me to suggest an IGL that's fit this roster... bro idk. Maybe gamble like G2, bring a random danish guy from tier 2 and pray. but I'm afraid Faze won't gamble like this and also they are broke asf at the moment so there can be a very dark faze-phase on vision but I hope the boys bounce back and it's just a bad period. Average FaZe shuffles discuss on hltv: -karrigan. Who tf can replace him? There are no T1 ILGs that can play 1.05-1.1 rating but nexa (blameF so-so, i don't remember T1 IGLing from him). Any alternatives like T2-T3 siuhy/moving someone from rilfer to IGL are pure shit. No one can uncover stong siders of players better than karrigan & there are not so much IGLs with HUGE major experience. His playstyle consisting in being entry and coordinating teammates was used by apEX, MSL, ANGE1 and many other stong IGLs. It could look like weakness but statistically FaZe has the best %4v5 round wins. It's still better than Jame-time every round.
And what players you would take instead?
I was thinking NiKo/YEKINDAR as new entry, great entries with firepower (I would first pick s1mple or ZywOo [I know they are not known commonly as entries but they can play that role, especially ZywOo] but I don't think they would join, ZywOo maybe if they had enough money)

Niko is winning tournaments, he isn't going to leave, zywoo is too expensive, yeki probably around 1-1.5m also. Astralis not going to let their star rifler go.
If they want any replacement (it won't be before summer break) they can go for young Igl like siuhy and they can also go to their academy team and pick frozen, because my boy can play every role except awper in this game.

problem is that rain is good like 20% time when at that level you should be good 80-95% of times at least.
Somebody younger entry with more skill would be better, like NiKo or YEKINDAR for example.

3 years are A LOT in reaction time based game like CS, there is reason why there are so few CS players at top who are as old as rain.

Twistzz, broky and ropz know they have potential to be top1 team if they just had 2 more skilled teammates, no way that they rather be "constant top5" instead.
Karrigan just have too much power, even though he didn't reach top1 until he got 3 star players to his team, he want to keep his fat checks, he likes getting money more than give his teammates chance to be top1 while his teammates are young

They don't coorinate so well as NaVi, G2, Heroic. Instead they usually push solo, so what positive karrigan is bringing if they play more like pub/mm style anyway now?

Cuz karrigan's brilliance does not rely on his calling alone, but rather on other factors. Notice how faze always seems to start slow in tournaments, it's cuz karrigan's style is always to try and figure out what other teams have prepared for the tournament by floating map picks. In a sense karrigan is already half a coach. His calling in game is based on set strats with alot of flexibility mid to late round so that anyone on the team with an idea can improvise based on how the round went (which is also why he doesnt call when hes dead). Then when faze reaches the playoffs, he can now bring out his actual playbook with a few changes according to what he saw throughout the tournament and adapts to the opponent, all the while boosting his teammates abilities by an extra 5-10%.

bro rain is basically Niko level in a lot of positions, he's playing some of the hardest roles, star roles, because he's that good. I think the main reason Faze hasn't been able to keep up is Broky, unfortunately. Look at top contenders: Navi, G2, Vitality, Liquid, Cloud9, Outsiders they all have star awpers (Osee is a low tier star awper like Broky). Even some lesser teams have star awpers, impacftul players that take space and dictate the pace of their teams, like OG, Mouz, Ence, Big,
Broky, as good as he's been on Faze, is closer to that second tier of awpers than Shiro Zywoo S1mple. That's what's been lacking for Faze,

Yeah, they looked great in the first half of 2022, but have dropped off after the player break.
Karrigan and Rain are too old to have the energy to stay consistently performing.
I think it's mostly Rain though, Karrigan is an unrivalled IGL.
But if they can get a player like Yekindar to replace Rain, and maybe an IGL like ALEX or TabseN to replace Karrigan, they'd certainly do better than if they only replace Rain.

bro Faze lost 3 out of their 12 last matches, two of those were against G2 (literally the best team in the world at the moment), and 3/4 maps played against them went into the long run, and the other match lost was against Heroic in the final of Blast, which was a really close game overall, when Heroic was in top form. There is nothing to change, there is like two teams that can beat Faze right now and they cant do it easily, matches in their level are being decided on small things that cant be controlled
with the way the faze org is going, doubt they'll be around for long regardless

There is absolutely no need for change in FaZe right now. There is more competition now, though, because G2 are in terrific shape as well as Heroic and Vitality. Also, Liquid, C9 and OG can kick ass occasionally. And let's not forget about NaVi. Just because your favourite team doesn't win every single game or tournament doesn't mean they need to revamp the whole roster.

Look at Rain roles first of all ! When entering a site, he is right in front of the pack and that is why his death numbers are more.
Also, on Nuke, He bested Niko (the so called best outside player on Nuke) so many times and yet he is the problem.
KarriBOT did nothing in terms of fragging at all and he was so extremely poor and guess what .. Faze had problems because of THAT.
And we all saw, how many 4v2's (even a 5v2 on Ancient) Faze lost vs G2. That just isn't allowed.

No change is needed, and furthermore nothing will happen before FaZe ether win the Intel Grand Slam or the last 3. event chances for achieving this is over with.

How tf would u except an igl to frag as much as the star players on a team? They have the star player role because they are the ones to frag, they are the ones who need to carry because this is how the star role works. And then u have the igl role that demands the player to have focus on all zones of the map, in all of his players, in how the round flows. Being an igl requires a lot of focus in a lot of other aspects than your aiming and performance and thats why an igl, normally, failes to frag because they dont need to.
This all to prove that karrigan, the igl, is not the problem, faze won 4 of the biggest events with karrigan calling because he is a good caller and has prove that a lot of times.
Now lets talk about rain. Rain is not demmanded to be the star player and always having 30+ kills, as i said, that role as already been given to players like twistzz ropz and broky who are the 3 carries of faze. Rain role is toi provide space on the map, because he is the entry, to allow the 3 star players to shine and he does that very often. Besides that rain contributes a lot on faze t side with openings and thats his funcion on t-side. Then we have the ct-side where rain shines and has a lot of impact controlling areas on the map. Example of that is on nuke where he controles the whole outside area by himself and does a pretty good job.~
Personally, as a faze fan, i think that the problem is that we sometimes get out played by the other team, and thats one of the things we need to focus on. Also we lost a lot of 4v5's or something because someone is caught of guard. And then we lose a lot of rounds that we are not suposed to like ecos or semi buys and forces with deagles.
Overall i think faze is a solid team but they make some mistakes that they shouldnt expecially on the t-side, this side is certainly our weakness and we have to improve on that but i dont think that changing the team now is the better solution

karrigan is the reason they all have the space to succeed individually. Their success was (in part, no props taken from the amazing calling and great teamplay) due to rain finding his best form for half a year and broky overperforming, now they kinda struggle because they both fell off a bit. Learn from mistakes, karrigan is NOT the problem. They might just need a mental reset. RobbaN is also amazing and heavily underrated.

ropz twistzz and karrigan are staying 100%. rain is inconsistent compared to ropz and twistzz. karrigan is the best igl itw. mfs in the post seriously thinks just because statswise he cant keep up with the team they might replace karrigan lmfao. they made that mistake years ago and faze literally became tier 2 team while he was winning trophies with the rookie nonamers so even thinking about is ridiculous. lets say org give the green light for it, twistzz and ropz would left the team the second their contract expires because karrigan is the only reason why they choose faze clan in the first place and they are pretty much in love with the guy. idk when will that happen but if it happens first roster move will be either rain or broky. i believe they might wanna go for rain because of the age or rain might take a break for a couple months because of his newborn child.

Replacing Rain isn't easy beacuse they have awsome chemistry and he is a solid player when performs.
But as much I love faze since day one plz make some changes and take back your well deserved Nr1 spot again.

and you want keep ancient old karrigan, the worst IGL and fragger in top20 teams?
Now I start to understand why finnish scene have become joke and your teams just fail and no wonder finnish teams go to bankruptcy all the time and even your precious ENCE kicked their finnish team for foreign team.

He was best player last year, forget stats, he is not baiter, exit-fragger and gun saver like s1mple, zywoo and those russians etc.
he is aggressive and try win every round and he surely had biggest actual _IMPACT_ in first half of last year of all cs players - he carried FaZe to 5 tournament wins by being most aggressive top AWPer ever.

I don't think any change is necessary. It's really hard to build the kind of team chemistry that faze have. It's not broke then don't fix it. It may not be optimal but every good team has had at sone point issues in winning out the key moments. All the matches faze have lost in the last 7 months have been the do Or die matches and maybe some sort of sports psychologist or addrnl. Coach like how G2 has one can help faze too.
The team has had players who went from not having majors, colognes, katowices to having it all and tbh most pros in the scene if asked today would be happy to retire with only some of these. So if the problem is that their asses not on fire to win then yes the coach/ karrigan should make changes.
