The reason im okay with it is because it was all made by the Cuckmann himself, so if he wants to completly burn his own franchise to the ground i can respect that.
What i will never accept though, is when other people take a great franchise that someone else made and destroy it, like Motive did with the Dead Space Remake, absolute disgrace.

It's not like the episode have big metaphors or something hard to get.
It's quite simple, but people forget they should know nothing from that world, so the episode set a lot of things that we "don't know" or we shouldn't take for granted because we know about the videogame.
Plus some people, got their testosterone kicking or double digits iq because it's a gay couple instead than the typical handsome hetero couple from hollywood the ones falling in love story, so they see it like a bad episode just because of that.
Episode is beautiful from all the parts, from photography, to writing or acting.

Not if she’s the leader of a large settlement. Their group is clearly structured with her on top, likely bc she’s popular amongst their members. And we have no reason to think that shouldn’t be the case. She’s shown to be aggressive and ruthless, qualities most leaders in apocalypse media usually have.

Joel and Tess were in their 50s, how many women do you know that are in their mid 50s and look great, let alone women who have been living in the apocalypse for 20 years. Also Ellie is 14, if you are upset she’s not attractive, there’s something wrong with you, not her. The Last of Us is prioritizing people who fit the character, not attractiveness, and I think that’s great. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay have been excellent.

Bella Ramsay has been fantastic as Ellie, and good tv isnt about looking good, its about being good, and TLOU is very good. And if you've played the game, you would know they aren't "making" it "woke", in the game Bill and Frank are still gay, Marlene is still a woman of color in charge of the resistance, there are several women in charge of survivor groups and settlements, and none of the characters are particularly attractive.
As for this Sam Brinton fellow, I've never even heard of him, and he no longer works at a government agency. And I gotta be honest, if you think a random former government official having a weird fetish is what is wrong with American society, and not the fact that we are averaging over a mass shooting a day so far in 2023, Idk what to tell you other than you clearly no nothing about America.

I personally don't care about characters being blackwashed because many characters have already been whitewashed and I never complained about that either. lmao. nearly everyone on that list was a queen, princess, or wife of a powerful man. they only had their "power" because of a birth right, not because of a conquest or an actual rebellion against power. the few exceptions on that list are an "oracle" some dumb schizo woman who thought she could talk to god and convinced a bunch of dumber people to rebel in favor of another king, and let's be honest, the other king was probably plotting this rebellion and just used this schizo to get the peasants on his side. or just rich women who paid men to fight for them, and again let's be honest, they most likely got that wealth from their fathers.

Now you're just lying. Most of the women on that list weren't queens or come from power. Most were peasants or just normal people with no power ties. Ofc you lie though after being proven wrong. And as we can see from history, if women are able to lead violent revolutions/rebellions, then I don't see how a single woman in TLOU universe wouldn't be able to lead a group of people. A leader doesn't have to be the physically strongest, they just have to be respected by their supporters. You would probably get executed on the spot if you tried to disobey your leader simply because she's a female and you're stronger.

the show is taking a realistic angle, it's not a marvel production where your karen leading a settlement would make sense. so it kills immersion when it starts adding unbelievable aspects.

Also the funny thing is that back in 2013 no one cared or complained about representation or how "woke" The Last of Us is or wasn't. But now when its 2023 every HLTV basement dweller goes crazy over the fact that there's gay people, or women leaders or black people even though they have been there since the beginning. I'm pretty sure Joel's daughter isn't black in this series though. Based on Google search the actresses father is white(British) and her mother is half Zimbabwean, half British.
