I feel like everyone else apart from G2 has been missing shots they would usually hit. Like most players' form is really shit compared to what it was last year. If they did a 1v1 between their current self and the one before the break, the current self would get stomped. The teamplay has also taken a hit. We're seeing way less 5v4 conversions I feel
I am aware this is probably due to the break but it's worrying because it's February now and it feels like they should have plenty of time to warm up already

I mean it's because faze is playing kinda shit (not hating them, just telling the truth) since the summer break, vitality is vitality.. just finding themselves on every event, they are not that consistent, heroic is great team-wise, but if one out of that 5 players is plaing shit they will probably lose, because their first player (that could be anybody) in the scoreboard is around 1.3 rating at max, ok, jabbi step uped this event, but he can still play shit in the arena, because it's heroic, liquid just don't have any vision how they wanna play since summer break and g2 helped a lot that they weren't on the major and didn't have deep run. Idk how, but they can even win a 2v4, 3v5 etc rounds just because they had plenty of time to train and deathmatch. I'm sorry for typing essay if you read it all, but I just have to type it.

Yeah FaZe are not playing well individually and they dont have any kind of tactical basis that is reliable enough to fall back on vs other top teams. Heroic look good individually and tactically. They're the only real contender vs G2 at this event imo but man for man G2 will fuck them. It's just that when I watch the games, the aim of players like ropz, yekindar, perfecto, tabseN, etc has been pretty poor compared to last year. Maybe its just me but the players are kinda off individually.
Also true G2 are just gods at mid-rounding and it feels like they capitalise on every mistake. Hope jks and huNter win this one

Tabsen's downfall was predictable, he isn't that young, so he had to fell off, perfecto had a good year, but the whole navi were shit, maybe it was because of sdy's roles so perfecto had more freedom, I don't know, i'm not really a fun of navi. He needs to step up individually if navi wants to win events or they must kick npl and get someone even better, don't know what happened with ropz and yekindar, maybe they are burn-outed or past their prime (Like kjaerbye was), but hope they are not.
Some teams have been messing with rosters or taking extended breaks or whatever tho

OG started with expectations that someone was going to be benched i'm pretty sure
Cloud9 changed a 3-year running roster's support player
BIG have only just gotten their full roster together for the first time since like 2021
NiP played 3 events with a new IGL benched a player signed an AWPer then had a different player need to take time away forcing an emergency signing
Its not like teams have had the smoothest start to 2023, but G2 and Heroic came in swinging whilst everyone I haven't listed has just kind of stayed the same, Vitality, NaVi, Liquid all just existing
Its also not like there are smaller events for them to get organised with anymore tho, the entire calander is basically just rotating shitty BLAST qualifiers and ESL copy/paste events in the same locations

True. Heroic are still in form but they ultimately always fumble in playoffs like in Rio. I suppose it makes sense though but a team with Heroic's players probably shouldnt be no.2 in the world tbh. Like I would expect a diff. team to be no.2

G2's success is from the fact that they've got a bunch of insane protocols for every round and insane individuals. Any team they play against has no chance in either department tbh
arent faze fans the ones talking all the time how this game is not about kills? "you dont need 4/5 stars" , "karigan is start god he outsmarts even if he goes 0/20 his impact is bigger then choko" and so on? what changed?

I have no clue what ure on about. This game is entirely based on kills and how u get them. Based on the history of FaZe, "you dont need 4/5 stars" is something someone who hates FaZe would say lol

Were they playing good last season ? FaZe had a run due to war weaking some teams, after that we didn't have a competetive season. C9 won an event, vita won an event, g2 won an event, navi won an event, outsiders won an event. The only thing that changed is s1mple looks worse. Heroic looks deadly, outsiders looks better then they did at blast, vita looka really good. Even complexity looked good.
Just because FaZe got worse doesn't mean the scene struggles.

They got a final and a top 4 and a top 8. They usually just lost out to the winners. Also I didn't say that wtf. I watched every game at Katowice so far and it just looks like the players are off individually.
Vita does not look that good tbh. Outsiders can do anything and look better than last place lol. No shit they look better than at blast.
CoL does not look good either. Only grim and hallzerk are good on this team imo.
G2 is playing very aggressive and they are all good aimers even HooXi -

- they play such a way that they can trade each other, e.g. as CT mid hold 2 short
- so many popflashes on banana and aps
NAVI
- they can not match the individuals of G2 in terms of aim
- they dont know how to counter play when opponent playing so aggro
- s1mple is nowhere his old performance - it is not enough to play FPL as he says, one need to play workshop_ maps aim_botz as a practice - he couldnt hit anything yesterday
- most important of all, they are not playing in tradeable way - losing teammates and get him traded is maybe most important I would say
M4A4 is back. Too many people still trying to use A1-S habits.
That was what coincided with G2's uptick anyway, so I'll run with it until it doesn't work anymore. :P

Missing the major was the best thing that could've happened to G2 long term, it looks like they worked double time on their confidence and team work, their individuals are mostly the same but with much more confidence which gives them consistency.
Every other team is struggling with that, "we're doing the same thing that won us the major, why isn't it working?" "we played the same strats agains the same team, we even improved on our mistakes, why isn't this working?"
Faze and Navi look behind on the meta. They're still playing individual CS while G2 and Heroic are playing packbased objective CS, as soon as something happens they all know what is the next point of conflit without the need to talk about it, basically playing connect the dots. Navi is catching up, they brought Npl as a teamplayer and it looks like it's working for them, they need to (and faze too) stop trying to contest the choke points just to try and stop other teams scaling and play for the objectives
