Can anyone recommend games with dark or mysterious atmosphere, please? Completed Assassins Creed Syndicate and I was amazed by London's grim atmosphere, want to experience something like that again.

just a little bit, but i remember a lot of sneaking and stealth missions in the campaign, but also there is also a lot of shooting, anyway it is entertaining game, but takes only 6-8 hrs to complete

You should go for it!
The atmosphere is dark, the music goes well with.. some are epic (especially during boss fights).
Dark Souls 1 has aged badly graphically but it's still a very good game, just like the rest of the series.
Give it a try at least, and if you didnt like DS1 try DS3.
If you liked them, do all of them and sekiro, then elden ring!
Don't let the reputation scare you off. It's difficult but it's something just about anyone can beat if you have the patience. It's not nearly as hard as those rage flash games like VVVVV.

I mean, I know it is not super difficult and you will be better and better with each try, but it's just not for me, I can't die on same bosses multiple times and repeating same scenario over and over again, don't have enough nerves to do it.

Pathologic 2. It's absolute art and has a super dark, grim, eastern european atmosphere.
Also it's a remake, not a sequel.

altho if u want grim atmosphere then try out call of cthulhu (underrated as fuck and goated) or vampyr (pretty mid but some good bits)

since origins, ac went downhill
new vegas if you're a quest enjoyer, some of those storylines are really twisted, but very enjoyable, favorite rpg
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Dishonored is a real fun game, really enjoyed it for the second time when I tried to finish without killing and you really see a difference in rats and guards
