Well you have to call it beforehand, otherwise you're just regurgitating what we've all already seen.
Astralis and Fnatic obviously had an era, on the early days of that era, they also had mostly douters, but yet the people that said "this is clearly the next big thing" were vindicated af.
If you just "call it" when its obvious then you're not calling anything, you're just a mouthpiece.

Your question is irrelevant.
Their era has started whenever they get to a point where they have dominated for so long that no other team can be thought of as competition. They're nowhere near so far. Astralis stomped every other team during their best days in majors, and just won regardless when they were at their worst.

They won everything but 1 tournament in 5 months. If that's an era, then every team has an era when they win everything in 5 months.
I'm not ready to say that's an era because then there will be idiots who think NaVi dominated like Astralis used to, despite Astralis doing it for 2 years more or less.

Astralis era was only 1 year

2nd year was more spottier than the one before it, but they won 15/24 tournaments the 1st year, including the london major.
Then they won "only 9" /23, but including the 2 majors of the year. They also skipped tournaments in that year iirc, which ate into their possible wins.

Their era ended after ENCE destroyed them on Nuke in Madrid, after they lost they dropped the #1 ranking and didn't win anything for 4-5 months. That's when it ended. after that they had a chance to start another one but failed

Eh, I was the biggest Ence fan during Madrid, but still acknowledged that Astralis are the team to beat despite losing the #1 spot. It's true they went on a little "hiatus" during that 5 months time, but there was truly no other team to compete with them for the major regardless
And if we still regard majors as the #1 competition CS has to offer, we have to say their era at least stretched between their 3 consecutive major wins.

An era is a period of time where you dominate and you are considered to be the favorite for every event. A team that lost the #1 spot to Liquid who won 6 Tournaments and a grand slam , a team that didn't belive in themselves and on top of that 2019 astralis is different than 2018 astralis the way they beat Liquid was by outfragging them, gla1ve was rushing Bombsite B on Overpass every round. 2019 was more of a individual driven Astralis which makes sense with the meta as well (Krieg gun op) . 2018 had the era and was the best tactical team.
Also a reminder, 2019 Liquid had a 23 BO3's winning streak (record is 25 by NiP) . They were destroying everyone and ESL had to change the rules for the grand slam because of the way Liquid dominated that time period.

You're inflating NiP's era a bit, as they lost to 2 nobody teams a month before winning a qualifier and after that again losing a tournament but yeah, might have been a bit longer.

When you rank the eras it's by your own preference the astralis era can't be called the best for sure. Astralis is the greatest team of all time but they didn't have the best era. Fnatic won more tournaments and were seen as more dominant because they had the best player in the world.

You can make the best case for Goat of csgo only for s1mple, he's been on top the longest and by far the best stats during it.
For cs as a whole, it's probably gtr followed by f0rest.

Their wins go from 2019-06-02 to 2019.07.21 and then they had a shared 1-4th result and a NA tournament win in 24th of october.

They lost 1 online tournament and then lost cs_summit which is a joke of a tournament. It's supposed to be a chill tournament where players make content. The trophy is a god damn chicken ffs

Liquid won every tournament for 2 months (7 tournaments) and then stopped winning, and they've won 1 non-qualifier (so a real tournament) since.
Navi won everything during a 5 month period, including the major, but have only won 1 non-qualifier since.

With all due respect, your argument isn't much better as it was to show that since their "eras" the team I showcased didn't win this much tournaments, yet NAVI won one, while Astralis won 0,
And NAVI dominated from IEM Katowice 2020 (February 1st, 2020) up to the BLAST World Final 2022 (December 19th, 2021), that's not 5 months but 23.
I don't want to waste my time and prove that same goes for Liquid, but you know you're wrong thus shut the fuck up.

Navi's streak doesn't start at the RMR, because it's a qualifier for a major.
Their streak starts at cologne, and they dominate for 5 months. That's not 23 months.
They won twice below the streak starting, because one of the wins was also a qualifier. They blew ass before their streak.
I'd say an era is winning at least half of the tournaments of the year or most of them; barely losing and remaining the number 1 team for a long period of time.

That's really not an era, if G2 win the pro league and Paris Major, or just the Paris major and then some S tier event after that, we can start talking. but without the Major they gonna need AT LEAST 6+ big event wins over a consistent period of time before we can talk about an era.

I don't think you can call something "the start of an era" in the moment. You can only really define an era retrospectively. If G2 wins ever tournament in the next 6 months, we'd probably call World Finals the start of the era. We could already be in a G2 era and just not know it yet

It may very well start after Katowice but they would then need to be dominant for minimum a full year.
