not apocalyptic but if you want some god tier docu-series: a perfect crime - german show about a german industrialists assassination, sounds boring but i enjoyed dirty money - show about fraud, 50-70 minute episodes about financial crime, fraud, robbery etc madoff: the monster of wall street - amazing in-depth personal series about the madoff fraud sunderland til i die - series detailing the fall of an english football team, filmed on site with the actual team, no recreations, not as recent but still very much enjoyed
