Seems like CS2 will be just update, CS:GO was a completly new game that divided scene and NIP was basically only pro team that moved on and dominated for quite some time.

G5 played 1.6 for like half a year or so after CS:GO was released. NiP was assembled and grinded from very early beta

And that's because everybody else decided that it would flop, so they didn't bother. It was a mistake and they paid for it. Also as far as I know f0rest and GTR still played some 1.6 tourneys in the beginning in parallel with CSGO, they grinded their asses off and were rewarded. And G5 is not the only example, VP/Astana Dragons, Na'Vi, VeryGames, CHP Wolves. Nice to know all of them were just plumbers that NiP stomped. Bet those players appreciate that sentiment.

+1 Of course players Back then couldn't be as good as today, but Not because they weren't as talented, but because they only Had a couple of hundret hours in csgo. All the haters Love to overlook the success many of these players had years later

Can someone explain me how the pro scene would be after cs2? Will all pros from csgo move to cs2 like all pros for cs 1.6 move to csgo?

it will not be a new game, just a new launcher to csgo but using the new source, its like playing an original game and his remastered, but the pros prob will move

its not a new game by the usual standards (cs 1.6 > source > go ) think about it as a massive re-haul and valve simply porting the game to source 2 (wich is x10 better ) massively doubt that they would introduce massive gameplay changes (movement ) ,any soon tbh. expect better MM , better demo's , overall just edging out what was really bad from source engine , while not changing the core game because we are still in the mid season with major and many events coming

I think first there will be a beta version called CS2 where people can try out new stuff and Valve can fix/improve things based on data and feedback and after that they will just implement the SC2 stuff to CSGO. Eventually there won't be both CS2 and CSGO and just one combination of both games.

I suspect it'll just be an update to CSGO and renamed Counter-Strike and everyone will just merge into the newest version on source 2 engine. When CS1.6 split with CS Source it was an absolute disaster and that was before skins $$$.

Clear bait, but I'll bite. But why are some (clearly not initiated) people talking down NIP achievements in early CSGO? It's like saying: "Pelés achievements in football doesn't count because the competition wasn't good"

Recency bias , G2's win streak deludes ppl from NIP , even tho they are in too massively different time lines its like saying any artist today > Leonardo da Vinci (wich when you think about it , its true ) but you remove alot of the context ( timeline ) NIP streak > any streak

Anyone knows if Source 2 fixes smokes render inconsistencies? Like player POV differing from demo POV and/or transparency/layers problems (seeing someone behind a smoke because of an HE).

How it will function, i remember when dota 2 goes to source 2 it was first beta and after few months source2 completly swap source 1 they patch it on steam and everybody go to source 2 coz they stop patching source 1. I guess same will happend to CS GO.

yes, and yet you had VeryGames, LGB, Astana Dragons/VP, the polish VP lineup in ESC, Complexity, mousesports, fnatic, CPH Wolves, NaVi all in 2013 already, and yet NiP dominated them throghout the whole year, while those rosters all had future major winners and players which play until now inb4 flair, but it's the same as saying that Astralis era is shite because they figured out the new meta and utility usage earlier than other teams and thus had minimal competition, lol
