I’d rather have Saudi money than no money.
2023-03-17 22:42
saudi money on csgo or china money on valorant?? hmm idk i enjoy these middle easterns owning the west than i do the CCP.

They have a lot of money, partly it is understood why they want to do that, well supposedly because oil is not eternal, they are going to run out one day, in this way it is said that they encourage tourism which is the future source when oil runs out, I hope it really works for them

the bombs gonna be planted, but not in game
2023-03-17 23:09
Thankfully this is happening now when I'm basically at the end of my enjoyment with CS as an e-sport like I only tune in for the biggest events now Cologne, blast word finals and majors everything else can be safely skipped as it doesn't really matter.
Also Saudi money is not even the problem the problem is ESL events are just all so bland and corporate now that the only reason to watch is the games and unless it's an absolute banger game or later on in an event then there is no point even watching those games.

I hate it too but what you can do I guess.
2023-03-17 23:36
>buy oil from saudi
>saudi uses part of the money to organize csgo tournament instead of building artificial islands or empty scyscrapers with slave labor
and people still complain
2023-03-17 23:39
what happened? i waa busy refreshing csgo blog
2023-03-18 08:07
I’m fine with Saudi money but I don’t like the monopoly.
2023-03-18 08:18
Other TO like Starladder and Eleague are already dead long before Saudi takeover, it's not their fault that the competitor doesnt have money to stay in business anymore
2023-03-18 09:52
As long as they don't interfere and don't play politics through it, I don't mind.
Check other threads people wanted 'counter terrorists' renamed, apparently to 'attract sponsors' , saying more money is good for scene. I presume those people have no issue with Saudi money.
2023-03-18 10:11
I think they don't like dirty money
2023-03-18 10:29
a money injection in the scene is good , a high prize pool in a 3rd part event means valve might need to push the major one to even higher , dont care about the source as long as they dont "sportwash" it
2023-03-18 10:42
Yeah it's fuckin tragic. And this is gonna get 404'd.
I just wish valve took over the csgo circuit with like 6 minors and 2 majors or something like that. Then other TOs could do the rest.

Its really sad to see that saudis try to greenwash their reputation with esports, same goes for us airforce. It sickens me to see these things ruining even computer game scenes...
2023-03-18 13:49
You know their oil will be depleted for the next 10 years. What they're doing right now is I'm advance to help boost their economy. That's why you see they bring all sports, esports, concerts and Cristiano Ronaldo etc. It's strategically to gain more reputation aside from having oil products and human rights violations
2023-03-18 14:03
they will be insolvent by 2040. it's just a temporary thing to extract their remaining liquidity faster by selling them aging tech startups. they think this will save them. lol.
