that could be a good case for basketball but american football is unique where it is fast paced but isn't the same thing over and over and over again, a snap could end in a successful pass, or the quarterback could be sacked, or the pass could be intercepted, or the quarterback can fumble the ball, or the quarterback could just rush himself etc. not to mention yes, due to the low scores a football game could be turned around in one minute, but i'd argue watching 89 minutes of nothing happening only for the last minute to have something interesting isn't exactly worth the build-up. because while yes, the goal is exciting it isn't because of the quality of the goal, but because something FINALLY happened (of course that's the worst case scenario where neither team has scored yet)
