as of right now, there are 4 prodigies everyone agrees on: verstappen, leclerc, norris, russell. Maybe, if piastri puts up a worthy fight to Lando, he can join them as well

norris destroyed ricciardo, 8 times grand prix winner, who beat verstappen and prime vettel. Norris was a clear cut best of the rest driver last year, when mclaren were shit.
russell was by far the most consistent merc driver last year ( top5 s all the way up to silverstone in a shitter of a car). Add to that Sakhir ( would have won in a car, where nothing fits him), Spa 2021

Norris is a good driver just as Russel, there’s nothing “prodigy” about them, I consider prodigies genius drivers that are able to win championships not only single races. So to my definition the only prodigy of this generation is Verstappen and nobody else

give norris, leclerc or russell that red bull, and they will win the championship. Not as convincingly, but they will. So rating prodigies is pretty much a matter of being in a right place and the right time

A great driver can lift a shitty team way higher than it should be ( e.g. Lando norris in 2022 mclaren)
A mediocre driver can downgrade a great team way lower than it should be (e.g. Valterri Bottas in 2021)
A great driver in a great team can produce championship worthy results ( e.g. Verstappen last year, just check his stats and you will understand what I am talking about)
so what's the point of having ferrari and mercedes, mclaren, aston martin as brands in f1 then. since 2014 and up to 2021 merc could say stuff like : we have built the fastest car on f1 grid, where best engineers compete. Not just ''our driver won, gg''
