It is objective. I play better on 4:3 black bars since my pc is not capable of streching or good fps. Playing on native is a big nerf (for me).

You obviously don't know what you're talking about, so please, stop. Mouse behaves differently on 4:3 and 16:9 resolutions, and that different behaviour suits some people better than others, it's personal preference. The same resolution stretched and on black bars also produces different mouse behaviour, different distance that you have to cover to get to the same spot with your mouse, different microadjustments needed to aim properly. It's all measurable, it's not a fucking placebo lmao
It's not placebo dummy.
Black bars = smaller visuals, slower moving visuals.
Stretched = larger, wider visuals, move across the screen faster.

1. older computers get higher FPS on lower res
2. if you take a character in the distance that is 2 pixels wide, he looks more like 3 pixels wide on stretched.
Most of it is just habit but I do like the way 1280x960 plays.

Fps is an argument for some. To my trifling knowledge about the subject, I understand that it doesn't necessarily even boost fps on some setups.
I am old enough to have played CS on CRT monitors. We used them for a long time for the higher hrtz. Took me a while to get used to the wider aspect ratios. Worth it.

I took a break from gaming and went straight into 4x3 stretched and now I don’t enjoy going up to 16:9 feels weird

I always played this res but I am old now and struggle to see, especially on newer maps with more clutter.

the pc are actually very good for csgo players, this game requests high CPU Hz & memory Hz, and low GTG monitor, it's becuz csgo players usually use 24' monitors, you can keep concentrating with small screens and low resolution such as 1280*960 4:3, many pros use this kind of setting too.
for me its between 1280x1024 and 1280x960
1366x768 ;)
