I have the same question, I did go through the article and it's still unclear, does it mean it's going to override the current csgo version or it's going to be a standlone?
No it’s an update. The major after Paris will probably be played on source 2 so the pro scene will have no choice but to switch over

It’s releasing in summer so I think they should give time to let pros adjust
Maybe after cologne and delay epl by like a week or so (cuz currently it’s a 1 week break)
