I saw nothing doing that, it looked cool, can make matches more interesting. They are still some sort of barrier. You dont have enough nades to delete smoke permanently

yes, it's just a counter, I think stuff should be like paper-rock-scissor, molly can me smoke, flash you look away, smoke and HE had 0 secod utility, tho smoke could be used to pressure an area but I think it's good it works like that now

Smokes being cleared by an HE is such a smart thing. There have been so many rounds, on Inferno for example, where youre just standing on top of banana and youre stuck behind a smoke and cant push or spam the smoke cuz youll get destroyed by an M4A1-s. Having that second of clear way will make it much more fun

Exactly. I just thought about Inferno, Ts plant in A and smoke library, or plant B and smoke CT and retake is instantly over and go save, NOBODY dares to cross that smokes except if you flash and pray. At least with that HE option we could see more people trying

it's actually just easier to kill the guy trying to spam the smoke now, and the HE must be right in the center of the smoke for it to disappear completely, it's a nice way to counter it but not easy to hit from a big distance and the smoke comes back after like 2 seconds

that's the entire idea, to change the game... to add the surprise element to it, which in the previous versions wasn't a thing. Anyway, remember that we are only in the beta stage of the game and many changes/fixes are still to come if needed.

It should still be CS, not Battlefield, not overwatch, community wants that. Basics of the game have to stay, CSGO mechanics were goat, not all of them though. There gonna be enough changes. I doubt cs 1.6 had volumetric physics based smokes. Also CS:2 looks very beatiful on new maps in source 2. Like fake RTX that can be run the same as old CSGO, or some unreal engine fragmovie/cinematic scenes. New special effects are so good too thanks to source 2, they made them while making half life alyx

I as someone who had 0 expectations was pleasantly surprised lol. Although after seeing the smokes I wish they looked less goofy/caroonish, they look like valorant smokes and kinda out of place, and so do some things on the maps from what I've seen, like the megatron or whatever is the truck on overpass called it looked less detailed than in csgo

Lol ! The last thing we wanted was another CS 1.6 vs CS source situation. Having two different CS games compete against each other and having community divided again ? Nah ! That would suck and thank god it didnt happen. Also game doesnt look the same at all ! Check side by side and youll understand the differences in a second. Now dont forget that CS is a highly competitive game and an E-sport game more than anything. You cant have Unreal Engine 5 kind of graphics in a way that would destroy performance and competitive games are more about performance than eye candy super next-gen graphics.

I hate the idea of removing jumpthrow bind and one way smokes.. i think its perfect and makes you evolve as a player who can think in certain situations as clutch to know where or what to smoke or how to use it, play for the gap and gain info to make the clutch.. its the beauty of cs. Right now we will basically be fighting machines.. we meet each other and we fight, who has better pc wins.

I think you don't understand what competitive integrity means. Just because you can use something to your advantage and it takes skill, doesn't mean that it's fair. According to your proposal there is nothing wrong with a criminal using his stealth skills to his advantage.

You are comparing two different things mate, are you okay? Knowing that you can smoke under box on default mirage a site to create a one way to spot if someone is coming trough con and be safe from CT is just a skill from that player that he knows he can do that. Thats what i mean, it doesnt need to take all ur 30 iq to think smart.

The argument is that how much skill it takes doesn't determine whenever it's fair. The very idea of "one way", it means that there is no counter against it, you get an unfair advantage. Also is unintended bug in how smokes works in csgo, along with other glitches that you can exploit in csgo to gain unfair advantage. Rather than playing dirty, let's tune back to an even playing field. That's what competitive integrity is about, to create environment that everyone finds fair and real.

it will stay and I guess many players will still play it every now and then, but the migration will be huge and I can see many new players joining the scene in the near future. Also from the rumours it seems like there will be an update to the VAC system which will allow some realtime bans to be issued, which will definitely make players want to play CS2 rather then CS GO.

nah from what i saw its just beta and its an visible improvement , the only thing i have some doubts about is this new tick stuff ... it definetly feels worse than 128 but maybe it will improve on full release . also hopefully new vac and maybe new mm system with ranking ull forget about csgo by 2024 , and after 2024 there will be a lot of new mods in the game more variety more fun like 1.6 days

Because dust 2 is pretty much the same, they just changed couple textures. If you don't know how game engines work, it may not seem like a big difference, but it really is. Just wait when they release more maps, you will see the difference

sound recognition and quality, vertical sound (I assume S2 covers that a bit, based on 3kliksphilip's old videos talking about that issue), visibility, VAC (assumed based on Twitter posts from insiders), problematic menus, FPS stability in general, tickrate issues, and at least another 5 billion long standing issues, and it's only day 3 of the closed beta

Sub-tick on paper should be better than 128 tick, I've heard people complain about it, but also people saying it's good. ''Fps stability'' again, some people have worse fps, some people better. Imo in csgo fps drops were even worse and it's only beta

That is what happened when they dumped cs go on the scene. To be honest, still do not enjoy that they removed the wallbangs and the spray feels more like source game. Also molotov did not add anything beyond making the game slower. And they even nerfed the bhop, awp move speed, quickscope nerfed.. So yeah.. I hope that smoke thing will result in a more aggressive game style, but I doubt.

That's exactly what I fucking love about it. The game and mechanics are great as it is, I feared they would do something dumb and ruin the game with new stuff, but thank Gaben they didn't. Just a pure engine upgrade to improve performance and quality. If you want something different go play Valorant.

people who expected a way different game were always bound to be dissapointed and just did not think this through for themselves. its key for a game like cs that things dont change too much and valve certainly would not risk losing their moneymaker. i think the changes they introduced to the gameplay are just the right amount of evolution the game needs to keep it fresh, but not enough to have the whole playerbase re-learn the game. what still has to change (in my opinion) are the mechanics around the game, like matchmaking experience and anti cheat measures.

Huge part of the community hate new smokes , but i think this is a pretty interesting idea. Shooting through it still don't give you full vision of enemies , and with HE removal there will be more tactics , Ts would be forced to bait HEs with a couple of smokes , and CTs will need to choose if they use HEs to deal damage or to remove a smoke

Dust2 isn't a completely re-made map. They said it's essentially just been cleaned up. They just want to use it to test the game play and movement. I'm excited to see Overpass, Nuke and Mirage which were completely re-done on the Source 2 engine. That being said, it is still in a very early beta stage. I imagine they will make some changes to how Molly's look and how smokes look. My personal take on the new smokes is I like them. They are still quite effective, but the enemy team has to be willing to waste a nade to blow it away. I think right now everyone is just doing it to do it, but as the meta grows people will be more hesitant to just toss a nade away for the sake of a peek.

The smoke is clearly too op at source1 . One way or you smoke one choke point, it is a save guarantee. Today, forze decide to save on 5 v 4 postplant. ! Faze throw 2 smokes. It is done. It is not perfect the nade on smoke rn, but it is clearly better than before. Also, youre right. D2 is a just a playtest atm.
