Richard Lewis literally has a section in his article that specifically states that a large reason was to remove the need for 3rd party software. Also clip? I haven't heard spunj say this.

SpunJ was saying Valve purposely did not tell them additional information about the game when they asked (Like MM changes). They were there specifically to test gameplay features and give feedback. They were not given full access to the final version of the game or something

ofc they were not given access to the final version since that version does not exist yet lol and no, he did not phrase it that way. he implied that valve are comfortable with leaving the more advanced matchmaking stuff to services like faceit and co

I'am well aware that faceit created some sort of eco system that works well, but in the event of Valve fixing MM Im really curious to see what would happen

No it wont, people do not ONLY play faceit for their servers, but also to "rank up" further than what MM allows for. And it's also a place where you pay an extra fee(or even the Free que's) and what you get is people who communicate more, and are more eager to win, compared to MM.

I understand people who pay for services like premium. but normal faceit is basically in competition with MM and they cannot thrive together, if ever valve fixes MM that is lol

I don't know about that. Depends on the faceit level perhaps. Free faceit que's at 2400elo are good enough, just some toxic people but there's way better communication than MM, there's def a big difference from MM, in my opinion. I hope they will fix MM tho, but I doubt it's going to be good, sadly.

Radio silence from Valve when it comes to mm has me thinking nothing is gonna change. Plus ropz saying "sub tick" feels more like 64 tick has me a bit worried as well.

*regarding sub tick Ye, when looking at pro's playing I notice that they accidently shoot and kill teammates who were never in their scope/aim. I wonder what that might be.

If they fix MM correct way and add leaderboards , new higher ranks , let see ur elo etc.. then yes it could be end for faceit , esea and others 3rd party platforms. Maybe 128 tic also coming? I know they releaved sub tics , but im not realy understand what that is.
