Karrigan versus Nafany

Since the stats are almost identical, it really shows a key difference in leadership and impact when it comes to the tactical side of things. Also, in my eyes, Karrigan has more raw impact, his KAST is higher for example. Karrigan doesn't let the pressure get to him in the sense that it never affects his calling, while you can see a huge difference in the way Cloud 9 makes rotations, gamble stacks, flash plays etc, if you compare to the groupstage. Karrigan is a true leader and it shows. Nafany might be solid as a caller when not under pressure, but the mistakes in their gameplan when he's under pressure is crystal clear to me at least.

I keep hearing this from brazilians. I check the stats against furia, he's at the bottom of scoreboard. Can you tell me why you say that ? :D

Cause for a player like Karrigan It means nothing to be on the bottom of scoreboard

Not that i blame him for it. I understand his role. It's just i'm surprised to hear him being referred to a god.

that can be exaggerated, but he's the best IGL, atleast in longevity he is.

This is the definition of "experience". Nafany is still young and can't really compete with Karrigan in that department

It’s not tho? Choking on stage doesn’t automatically just go away with playing more on stage, it’s a mindset and psycological thing if pressure gets to you, and it’s not easy to just ”play more” high stake games and get rid of it by doing that. Choking doesn’t just stop is what im trying to say, remeber the TL lineup that choked for years? Yeah that never really changed for that lineup, they had to make adjustments to their lineup and bring in better leadership. Nafany has been in plenty of finals / big games to get that ”experience”, you see less experienced players (JDC, Xertion for example) and even if those 2 are not callers, you can see that their mindset is the same on stage, they play exactly the same as in groups/ online. Dexter is the IGL on Mouz and he never had much experience of high stake games, but he’s never struggled with pressure when he got to those Big games, which meant his calling wasn’t affected by it.

Ayyyy :D

I agree but it will definitely improve with experience. It also doesn't help that most of the time the crowd is against him
2023-03-27 12:58
But you are comparing him to karrigan who literally was a choker until like 32yo lmao
2023-03-27 13:41
Im a karrigan fanboy but back in the TSM days they were widely known as chokers and eternal second. So experience plays a huge part. nafany is 11 ! years younger than karrigan.

Karrigan been playing the game at a high level for like a decade. Nafany not so much. There is no doubt that he is a great player and a great leader. The pressure of a final is very different. You can start over thinking, start doubting your ideas and decision making. When a few things don’t work out and you’re not playing well it can affect you that much more when the pressure is on. Karrigan right now is deffo the better leader. Time will tell if nafany can reach his level. The psychology of a grand final is very interesting. You are playing the same game but it feels very different.

But, Karrigan is stealing all the lime light

Ye i remember when he cost them elimination from the last major on a bof3 against BNE. Brilliant mind With that said, Nafany is utter shit and is a tier 4 at best. Worthless aim, worthless calls, dead face

Did you hear about smth called experience? No? Interesting thing, go read about it
2023-03-27 13:31
Yet they both were in the finals.. i am sick of these dumb comparisons. Who are the other IGLs then? Lvl3fct? Cmoon Two igls, both have good and bad things. Nafany is good at structure, they are very strong at playing default. They make the least mistakes than any other tm.
2023-03-27 13:31
Faze are just better skillwise
2023-03-27 13:32
the fact that faze has 3 superstars +1 star with experience vs c9 with 2 superstars 1 star with experience has nothing to do with it

Karrigan has been developing his skill over the years. Experience difference between them is too big. Nafany is still young in this battle of brains area and which is why he tends to lose it with Experienced IGLs.

You cant be the best igl in your early 20s you simply dont have enough experience.

Siuhy is 20 y/o and pretty much every IGL in the game respect him and his calling. Just not the right opportunity in a T1 team Obviously the longer you play, more experience you get. But there's some kind of stuff that you learn by playing and others that you just have in you.
