They got top 8 in kato where a decent amount of teams that were higher ranked than them crashed out either early in groups or in the play in, and it’s really easy for any team to move around outside of top 5 with a good placement because not that many different teams are winning events right now Edit: or doing well consistently

They came 7th-8th by winning 6 maps in 4BO3s in an event that only had 6 teams in playoffs. A map win rate of 50% should not push you that high no matter what.

Ok but look at the teams below them. Other than c9 and maybe spirit fo you really think any of them are that much better than col or done well at any events recently?

Most of the teams - yes! At the moment an invite to Blast or ESL means more to your ranking than winning some t2 events!
