I finally got some regular disposable income from job and was curious about how much it would cost to get some skins for cs.
Conditions would be:
-one for each main weapon (m4, ak, usp, glock, awp)
-good looking skins but for reasonable price (like a mw emperor for m4 that costs around 20 euros). Max of 40 euros per weapon, pref less.
-good budget knife
-good budget gloves

I buy skins like since 2018, but some investments payed off alot like a icarus fell that I bought start 2021 for 500BRL and now is like 2500, and 500 prisma cases that I bought mid 2021 for like 0,10 each, and now they are worth 2,80 each
I also have some dick stickers that are worth a lot

You cleary don't understand that you don't exactly consume that skin and lose the money you bought it with lmao. You can always sell them back afterwards and get your money back. Looking at skin prices they've pretty much only gone up so one could even make profit buying skins now and selling them later.

Like $100 for a whole inventory apart from knife and gloves lol all factory new all relatively nice looking obviously you'll be spending a bit more on the rifles, your ak, your awp, m4 etc. but everything else you can get nice skins very cheap.

ak47 you have some choices as well, you can get a redline with 4 decent looking red/white/orange stickers

For 400-500$ you can make budget inventory for sure. Just find yourself a cheap combo and buy them from a third party site not steam market.

I think the main weapons you can manage with 100eur. My USP was 6eur~ when I bought it, it's now up to 17.5eur (Purple DDPat FacNew with sticker build). Glock is 6eur, was 2eur when I bought it (Groundwater MW with sticker build). AWP 3eur (Atheris FT), M4A1-S Chantico's Fire WW sticker build, around 16 -> 20eur, M4A4 In Living Color FT sticker build 5eur when bought, 7eur now. So that's 54,5eur for decent-looking skins made better with some personal-ish sticker crafts.
Whoops, forgot AK, Frontside Misty MW with sticker craft, around 26eur.
I think 150eur is good for a knife. The 100eur range and under knives all suck ass. So that would make 230eur all together for now. Then add gloves for 100-200eur and it's all together 330-430 eur.
And if you want the rest of the weapons filled out, I wouldn't spend much more than 5-25eur on shit you prob won't use much ever anyway.

Yeah and any skin can be made better with some matching color stickers or even holos/glitters. You can find stickers in almost every color and mix and match which looks good and which you like.

Depends on what you want to buy. Here is a quick list which skins I can recommend to you so you can check prices. Some of them are ~40$ and some 2$ ( and still looking awesome)
Ak - Wasteland Rebel or blue laminate.
M4 - bullet rain, desolate space.
Awp - sun in Leo, hyper beast ( ft or lower), Corticera.
Silencer - hyper beast, cyrex, nightmare.
Usp - road rash, blueprint, Royal Blue.
Glock - Wasteland Rebel, Water Elemental, Franklin, off world, bunsen burner, blue fissure.
P2000 - fire elemental, corticera, pulse.
Deagle - Kumicho Dragon, crimson web, oxide blaze, Midnight Storm.
P250 - franklin, Mehndi, Wingshot, supernova, splash, crimson kimono, mint kimono,
Ultraviolet is cheap good looking skin for knifes
Gloves - idk bro
and etc.
I can say : 300-500$ if we talking bout guns only ( but as I said you can buy a lot of good looking 2$ guns) . 200$ decent knife and gloves - idk

I see you got some nice reactions already, im glad the community gives you decent advice.
personally, i gathered my collection throughout the years. i just replaced skins when i was tired of them and wanted something fresh. Sometimes you need to please yourself if youve reached a new goal (ingame/irl), so treat yourself accordingly. This also creates a positive correlation in skins to personal milestones, and it makes nice memories.
Which skins? You really have to think about what YOU want. you're the guy that uses those skins, so YOU have to like them. Just browse through the skins on a selling site and make a list of stuff you like. You can always upgrade later.
Its always a good thing to check your favorite skin in each wear. sometimes you dont really notice the difference between FN and MW. ALso, think of the value that you will get by selling. ST retains value better.

addendum: you have noticed alrdy that the market is HYPER rn. its just not a good time to buy skins that are desired by many.

tbh, i havent seen prices drop in CSGO, they have always been on the rise, after skin betting was prohibited.
So, it is sort of an investment, but with CS2 on the way, the popularity is extreme atm, and i expect it to settle down or even drop a bit after CS2 is out of beta.
But im not a trader, so things might go even the other way, who knows.
I actually prefer the artwork of a lot of "budget" skins over expensive skins, but the whole point of buying skins is to flex your financial status over people.
ak-47 : neon revolution (my favorite ak skin, it just pops)
m4a4 : desolate space, hellfire (I really enjoy these skins)
m4a1s : night terror battle scared (looks great when it's purple)
awp : exoskelton (budget gunjnir, some stickers can make it look pretty good)
usp : black lotus, blueprint, ticket to hell, cortex, monster-mashup (all good looking budget skins)
glock : wasteland rebel, water elemental, nuclear garden (all cool looking skins)
mess around on 3d.cs.money/start with crafts before you buy.

That knife + gloves is around 250 euros (both in bad state). Looks good nonetheless, but maybe market is fcked atm.

Nowadays you can buy good looking skins for every weapon (excluding knife obv) for like 50$
+ like 200-250$ for a knife so it's not the cheapest stuff which is just ugly
But I wouldn't spend my salary money on it. What's the point ? I used to had a few thousand $ in skins like 6 years ago thanks to skins betting. But spend my earned money ? Stupid imo. It's not so ez to sell cheap skins after.
My inventory:
1st phase: Some cheap decent skins for my main weapons
2nd phase: Every weapon in stattrak (cheapest skin of every gun)
3rd phase: Added a knife
4rd phase: fuck it I want all the nice skins (M4 howl, Fire Serpent, Deagle Blaze, Bayonet Fade, etc.) Spend about 750 euros on OPSkins back then. Skins were still really cheap.
5th phase: CSGO was having a dip, thought the hype was over and the game was dying. Sold all my skins for about 1500 euro cash. Didnt have any inventory at all for about a year
6th phase: oh, the game isnt dead after all and skin prices are higher than ever. Really regret selling my inventory back then since it would now all be worth 5000+ euros
7th phase: After barely playing the game for 3 years, reinvested some money in decent skins, now have an inventory of about 400-500 euros.
