What are the benefits of writing English with correct grammar and punctuation? The vast majority of people don’t bother writing correctly (including myself).

A comma in that sentence is not correct. It's either "I'm helping Uncle jack off a horse", or "I'm helping uncle Jack off a horse". And preferably, you would say "off of" in the second one.

The difference is in the capitalization of the words uncle and jack.

Mb i still dont get the difference

The first sentence means that the uncle is jerking a horse's dick. The second one means that the speaker is helping his uncle named Jack off of a horse's back. In the first sentence, Uncle is capitalized, because it is a family word used in stead of the person's name, and jack is not capitalized, because in that sentence, it is not the uncle's name, rather it is a verb and Uncle is jacking the horse off. In the second sentence, uncle is no longer capitalized, because his name is specified right after: uncle Jack. Now, since "Jack" is referring to the uncle's name, the action made by the uncle changes from jacking the horse off to being helped to get off of the horse.

No problem. I'll also mention that some people prefer to write "I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse". The commas perhaps make the meaning a bit clearer, but I find it tacky. Not completely sure if it's grammatically acceptable, though.

Judgement from a superior who has something you want; a job, promotion etc. Or for example it doesn't distil much confidence in a client or equivalent if you're writing an email with 'there' instead of 'their' - an honest mistake/slip perhaps even when you do know the difference, but regardless some people will just jump straight to seeing it as a fundamental lack of education and/or intelligence. People are quick to form opinions and slow to change them.
2023-03-29 18:32
I judge people unable to write correctly as uneducated and stupid

English should be replaced as a global choice, it's garbage language, not logical, awful terrible spelling, too much complexity and versions, but the huge problem is sunk cost fallacy, and the more time pass the worst it gets maybe AI would help us?

It's social convention, and its as arbitrary as most other social conventions. Humans really like establishing arbitrary social norms and then judging people who don't comply with them very harshly. Evolutionary, it probably has some vague purpose, but that would be mostly speculation.

It helps me discuss stuff in forums like this one. Still my autocorrector would troll me (because is still set at spanish autocorrection) but I always try to have a clean sentence at least.

What are the benefits of dressing nicely? What are the benefits of doing your hair? What are the benefits of not picking your boogers in public? Some rules on the surface make no sense, but people notice that, whether you think it's fine or not
2023-03-29 09:57
yea i'm so glad I had to take a business comms for my degree in college just to have to speak to people who man the phones and send me emails that are based in foreign countries that speak fractured english. or to get emails from english based clients, reps, etc that use incorrect grammar constantly too. oh and really classy too but I get emoji's in emails all the time. I know i sound boomer af but I just hate that I had to waste $1000+books on that class.
