In-ear or Over Ear?
 |
Romania darkdany667
So, my HyperX headset broke down today, and I've been searching for a new headset Logitech G Pro X caught my attention but i'm down for something from razer too. What should I get an Over Ear from Logitech/Razer or some in ear?Which are better for csgo, and are the most comfiest?

how is it not? you have no friction in your ear, it's way more comfortable for long time gaming sessions.

Damn didn't know they still had that design. I used to have the G430 for like 5 years, but after that cable connection with "main"(left) ear got a little bit fucked and missed sound in right ear if it moved.

get some nice studio headphones for 1/3 price with 3x better quality compared to gaming brands. and some 30€ mic from amazon

Which ones you recommend? I am using Sony's XM4 and I really enjoy the bass and sound in them I see many streamers use this combo too, wired xm4s

any superlux for <50€ dt 770 pro <150€ sennheiser hd600 < 400€ any neumann's for >400€ but imho that's too much for just home use with music and gaming that sonys pretty good for sure

I use the dt and sennheisers and love them both, pretty wide range from more oldschool/chill rap over electronic to stoner rock. DT's are closed, sennheisers open tho and imho that's the most important thing to regard, depending on your setting and what's important for you and (Open = no isolation but better surround, etc..) edit: at this point I have to make clear that I don't do competitive gaming for years now and I'm not sure what option is better if you play faceit etc.

For open headphones with budget under 200, there is nothing better than DT990 pros.

sony xm5 better tbh for overall use. I wouldn't upgrade it if u already have an xm4, but if you have neither i'd pay the few bucks extra to get the xm5. solid products either way.

In ear will not sound to same to you if you used over ear. Even if the sound quality is better you will play like a bot. Go for comfort and also what you are used to hearing.

I had Cloud Cores before I got these and they sound kind of similiar. I mean obviously since clouds are a copy of them but I dont think it is worth the upgrade considering you really need an amp for them + mine broke in a year. I mean dont get me wrong the DT770s sound better or I would even say way better than clouds but they are not "great". Lets say considering that they were my first "audiophile" headphones I was rather dissapointed. There are better alternatives for around the same price especially from Sennheiser (i have 560s and they are great, sound great and dont need an amp, super durable and comfortable, dont get as dirty as dt770, removable cable which is great considering the first thing that broke on my dt770 was the cable which is NOT removable) or if you want something closed back with a similiar sound get akg k361, they are fucking amazing for the money and CHEAPER than the dt770, more durable and removable cable, but hd560s are still better

Hmm ok fair enough, everyone has their own preferences of course thats why there's so many great headphones out there. In my opinion the DT770 needs to be powered to sound good. Even the 80ohm PRO version. I use a Fiio E10k and they sound noticeably better than when I plug them directly into my PC for example. When plugged into my pc they sounded not much different than Cloud II's I had, but to be fair they sounded nice for the price.
2023-03-30 23:32
This. DT 770 are great soundwise/comfort especially if you wear glasses
2023-03-30 14:51
I agree, but I also suggest something to power them properly. I use a Fiio e10k. It also has a nice bass boost.

oh awesome haha, I love this combination I've been using it for over 6 years now. The bass is excellent even at low volumes, I've been thinking of getting some open backs but I don't know if anything will surpass the DT770's.

It's decent in my opinion but open-back headphones can't produce good bass unless you have an good amp. Most comfortable headphones I've used tho.

well I can't recommend you stuff if I don't know what you like or what your price range is, hence why I linked you a site with good explanations about the sound which then you can use to look into more in depth reviews

The way I asked for a recommendation in expectation you would recommend something what you know is good and have tested and enjoyed a lot It's like asking for a mouse recommendation and I would say GPX wireless because it has an amazing shape and very comfortable with having no wires. I don't need to know what type of hand you have or price range or other stuff to recommend a good product which I have used and enjoyed.

just because you enjoyed it doesn't mean i will, that's the whole reason of someone asking for a recommendation, you explain what you're looking for or give something you've liked as an example, what's the point of me recommending a $5k headset to you if you're never gonna buy it like what the fuck am I reading lmao

gaming headsets are overrated, you won't use that 7.1 surround anyways so go for a good studio/music headset, they are much better price/quality
2023-03-30 15:02
i had many expensive in ears and the cables on them are a big issue at least for me, they just break within 2-6 months. They might not even fit you, no matter which tips you try. Then i got tired of buying 40 euro cables and bought a cheap chinese headphones because everyone was praising them at that time - takstar pro 82. They dont sound worse than dt 770 for sure. i also didnt felt significant downgrade after using dt 1990 pro for over a year. 3 years later and they still look as new, also super comfy. They cost way more than their price tag, big respect to manufacturer. They also have a version with mic, i think its called takstar shade. i believe that cloud core is basically a custom version of takstar pro 80.

I got the Beyerdynamic DT-297-PV/80 MKII. It's a headset with an actual quality mic. Our biggest radio station uses these too. You can probably get a good gaming headset for the price of the cable, but I think these will last for a while.

2023-03-30 16:27
Get some IEM, there are many good options for 20-50 € that outclass most of the gaming headsets, and headphones up to 150-200 €, there are many recommended price quality like Thruthear Hola, QKZ x HBB, Tangzu Wan'er, Linsoul 7Hz Salnotes Zero, TRUTHEAR ZERO.
2023-03-30 16:27
dont buy "gamer headsets", any studio/audiophile headphone around 130$ is better for gaming that the most expensive things from a gaming company
2023-03-30 18:43
Look up Valco headsets. Best in the market.
2023-03-31 00:55
if you really want a headset instead of headphones with a mic buy sennheiser pc38x. iems are way cheaper for similar sound quality but i just prefer my headset. earlier i wrote a bit about them here: hltv.org/forums/threads/2754331/what-hea.. also maybe consider sennheiser hd560s though i havent tried them theyre pretty similar to pc38x. do note that they arent a headset

can't really read these graphs but thanks do you maybe have any recommendations for headphones that would work well on integrated sound card + under 90$? i also heard about isk hd 9999 but i can't find them on the crinacle website + i heard that they are really bassy iskproaudio.com/products/hd-9999-headpho.. kinda sucks because they have detachable cable which i would like to have
2023-03-31 01:18

one thing i recommend is getting an apple dongle, i use it for my pc even though i have an integrated sound card because my iems sound weird otherwise. for headphones you probably wont need it but its so cheap its worth considering. as for cheap headphones you should check out cheap iems as well because they are WAY better value than headphones in that price bracket. i feel like the go to headphones under $100 is the ksc75 because there is so little competition, maybe try to buy used if youre patient and are willing to learn a bit more. you can get almost anything half off if you wait long enough. check out headfi and r/avexchange if you care enough about used stuff. also the hd 9999 look to be absurdly bassy and have a painful amount of treble which drowns out the mids completely, i wouldnt recommend those at all.

i thought about IEMs but I kinda doubt they would be comfortable enough for long sessions + i was planning to share them with my brother The ksc75 are kinda weird, a lot of people seem to be recommending them but at the same time they don't look too durable (especially cable) and they don't have detachable cable. I will still consider them though because i don't really have any better ideas rn. Ty.
