the reason i use twitch, specifically for esl or blast broadcasts, is so i can bet with channel points. i love making predictions on which team will win and racking up huge money, getting to 100k+ from just betting is the best feeling

With resolution 16:9 being standard, horizontal space is more important so if there could be a factual correct taskbar location it's on the side not bottom.

Bruh, you can customize it. Used to use XFCE4 in 2015 but I switched because it kept crashing or i could not customize it as I wanted I dont really remember.

people are usually way too "nice" there then. Whenever I see yt chat it always feels like those are some real bots idk i agree with #22 and when I want to discuss the game I just alt+tab to hltv. Discussing something in both yt and twitch would be weird and crazy uncomfortable

Is that both on 1080p? Also you are not talking about upscaling but about compression here. I personally cant spot a difference on my monitor with both on 1080p but when I put Youtube on 1440p (impossible on Twitch) Youtube looks better.

I really only use twitch because it has a faster and up to date showtime. Youtube stream tends to be a bit delayed, but I guess it doesn't matter if your watching for the game and not for the result earlier

i dont really care youtube is better for me personally, but usualy i click for the 1st link on the matchpage with highest viewers number. also im used to watching finals on twitch. i remember watching teams lifting the trophy with twitch layout in the background rather than youtube (i dont like fullscreen). for me twitch feels somewhat "special" cuz im watching youtube daily and twitch just for the tournaments

ESL wasn't streaming in 1440p before, i didn't know that changed for playoffs. i used Twitch when it was 1080p only before because the bitrate seemed slightly better and there was more clarity compared to YT. but i get ads every 2 seconds so definitely on YT now

YT will be much better than twitch soon because iirc they will implement AV1 support sooner. AV1 quality is FAAAAAAAAAR superior to x264 no matter what preset you run. iirc YT kinda has AV1 already but only for videos. Then I'll switch for sure, x264 was always bad for streams because it's a codec made for movies, not video games.

The stream quality is better on Twitch, I'll give Twitch that. 1440p on YT is not as sharp being oversampled on 1080p as 1080p is natively displayed on Twitch. The ads are far worse on Twitch and more intrusive. Theater mode is better on Twitch as it uses more of the available area. Lag is far better on YT, which is probably related to why the stream quality is slightly worse. Twitch's stream is about 5 seconds ahead of YT's stream. YT natively has the ability to rewind a stream if you want to watch something again instead of waiting for a possible replay. Twitch needs 3rd party plugins to do this. Twitch chat is just a cesspool, anyone who thinks different is just trolling. It adds nothing to the stream. YT's chat is actually people discussing the game. That is a product of how many people are watching the stream. Too many spammers on Twitch to discuss anything so it's spam or ignore. All of that considered YT is better for the ads and availability on more devices, unless it's some niche thing like theater mode or you enjoy the unintelligible spam of Twitch chat. The quality difference is so minor you have to be aware of it to notice it.

only #1 and arguably #2 pros are actual pros, ESL failed the VOD settings at one period, so you had to wait for the VOD upload, but its fine now and adblocks work, maybe you just need to use the site and other software better (videos->past broadcasts to check the VODs out, can do it with Rio final rn, its literally out there and dont be lazy, take 10 minutes to figure out which adblock works for you)
