Imo it's gotta be ancient or vertigo, I'm leaning towards ancient being the worst one because it's just depressing to look at, the monotone nature in its color palette and the lack of depth in it's layout is just bad to watch.

Finally someone who remembers the map in the operation. It made it easier to get used to though people thought you were cheating at first because most haven't played it back then.
I always wished for that one short map back during wildfire which had like a church in the middle I don't know the name

I am level 6 dmg pub lord yes but i still dislike watching pro games on vertigo, its just ramp rush simulator with the occassional b push, takes ages and doesnt provide anything that makes me wanna watch it, its like watching jame saving. I bet you cant even recall 1 good play from vertigo mr anton. Anyway mirage is still just as shit and if any maps should be removed are these two

pro players are bored of it, a lot of pros have been saying since 2021 that they have been practising and playing mirage over and over and over again and there are almost no strats left to come up with since the spawn window smokes

yeah the color palette is disgusting for spotting ct's I have to maxout brightness and digital vibrance while being 10cm away from the monitor to see some positions

I think i like every map in the pool rn, maybe dislike mirage a bit cause its been played so much. I was about to say inferno because of the saves but i like everithing else so it balances itself positively

I see a lot of hate towards Inferno. Yes, saves are boring, but it's a map where you actually are supposed to use ur brain, meanwhile mirage literally is a DM map. If your aim is on point at certain moment, and you catch good timings, you can do whatever you want and still win games. Even on tier 1 lvl it happens it make top tier competitive csgo look like 1.6 matches
Vertigo, but it might get better with cs2 smokes.

Gameplay wise it is Vertigo, but I absolutely hate Ancient for the player models. Cache would have been so much better than Ancient, there should have been a community map that replaced Ancient, I would love to see Santorini, Ruby, even Biome to be featured. Every time I see basically only one spot to plant the bomb which can easily be grenade stacked by CTs with virtually no risk, I throw up in my mouth.

the worst maps are easily Ancient and Anubis
inferno doesnt belong in a modern 5v5 bomb defusal game mode map pool. compare inferno with dust1 and you will be surprised how many similarities there are gameplay wise. its just outdated and not good enough for playing quality counter strike

duh you just stay on car or pit and you turn like 3 times a round MAX on ct, on t side you just don't clear angles cuz you let your teammates go first
Vertigo. A fundamentally horrendous CS map, that have become playable due to lot of patches fixing it up. But that doesn't fix the fundamental flaws with the map layout. Verticality issues, and bombsites being too close to each other. Lot of the fixes are just putting crates out in open, not an actual layout being good.
For argument that Valve have made it into a good map, should have done that with actually good map to make it brilliant, instead of elevating a trash map into spotlight.
with the opened skyboxes in cs2 i think tuscan may become a viable map for pro play, would be interesting to see it on the big stage
