all people(EU+some, hence eurovision song contest) do participate, but they go through voting before the finals.
So some countries do not proceed to final. But they are all in the 'qualifications'.
But ye, weird that Isreal and Australia is in it, although Isreal has been in it from the start.

Supposedly has something to do with the SBS broadcasters and the contract they have for showing it here. This year is the final one on the current deal so they have to renegotiate it or we won't be in it anymore.

Maybe I just don't focus on stuff that I don't think strongly about, I'd advice you do the same (or stop thinking so strongly about whatever "agenda" they push)
I think it's a lot about it being a tradition for people to watch, the competitions have been held for like 70 years now so there's a lot of history. For example I've watched since I was a little kid, one of the only times I was allowed to stay up for so late was to watch Eurovision once a year.
Because it’s somewhat fun to see Germany consistently sending the worst performers and consistently getting last place for it

I mean the performers arent good. But last place every time is simply cause noone likes Germans anymore for whatever reason. 15 years ago Lena could easily win with a decent performance. But now Germany at one point has offended each country demanding higher standards in politics and economics for financial aid. Germany is the bank of Europe and demanding something in return and thats when people started hating on them (around 2008 in Euro Crisis). Since then they get last place every time. That is no accident and has little to do with the song they perform
