CS Passion

"My passion has always been with CS and this is the game I have been playing for many years. It has never been my intention to make this a career. Before esports existed, everyone played it because they loved doing so. I am still one of those people." - GFi# I feel like this type of mentality is becoming rarer day by day in CS and I feel like it's really sad. Luckily we still have many passionate players as of now, I just hope players keep trying to go pro and compete because they love the game and not because of money.

More so with the cs fan base than the players, you'll always find idiots on HLTV like "no "insert player" made the right decision here to join this team instead of that team because look how much money they make now compare to before" rather than viewing the winning and legacy as the most important part.

I organized few 2v2 ARAM LoL tournaments for fun. I was shocked to see that most people were asking "what's the cash prize". Man, you serious? :D I used to organise cups and events around 2007/2008 and people were 100% playing for fun and competition, eventually the OpenCups or EuroCups winners of Clanbase received a bit of money but that was it. I don't understand why having casual teams almost disappeared.

I agree. On the other hand, I still organize RtCW LANs with no cash prizes, but beers and medals/cups!

most pros definitely didnt start playing intending to make a career out of it and in todays scene you dont go pro by just "loving the game"
