Decent actually, 3D had a long history of always going OT against SK which was one of the best teams in the world with NoA, NiP, etc. and coL could also compete with fRoD being one of the best awpers in the world at that time. I would compare it with the old C9 with Skadoodle, etc. So I would say around the same when you had C9, at the current state of NA cs, 1.6 was way better :D Not to mention NoA btw. "Norwegians of America" with shaGuar and method.

CS:GO i s much better, you had EG times,Liquid is decent, in 1.6 NA had Team 3d and COL,Team 3d was like top5 team @ world which has won 2 times WCG ( biggest event of e-sports) and also CPL(pretty big cs 1.6 event)

We had way more top players in 1.6 like fRoD, shaGuar, n0thing, Ksharp, etc

They had a couple of fearsome teams like 3D and coL, those were the two teams that won 1.6 majors, both of them with two. After 2005-2006 they were much less revelant. I would say overall they were a bit better in the first half of the 1.6 era than in cs:go but after that they became even worse.

I'd say 1.6 NA > GO NA 3D were first and were up there with the best, then u had coL with fr0d, warden, sunman. Legendary and very exciting team, fr0d was an animal AWPer. Also a lot of "t2" teams. I remember this guy Habibi, who had crouch bound on mwheelup and started the trend until they banned it ofc :D Different times anyway u didn't have many international tournaments and formats were awful. Like imagine a whole tournament of BO1s and the map is chosen randomly. Started disliking NA after they tried forcing CSS which was a fucking awful game and inferior to 1.6 in everything except graphics.

Most of the NA desk hosts and casters have competed in 1.6.
