Hello im going to texas in a month (cuz its based) and and im excited to try your fast food stuff and whatever sugar filled bullshit you got in your stores so drop some stuff i should try, already excited for popeyes and kool aid but drop something new!

Sounds about right. Fast food is literally just frozen, near rotten garbage that is made from underpaid teenagers that don't care for food and safety standards.
Absolutely avoid Burger King. I got the craps the last couple times I've gone and the company has only gotten worse since.

just stick to BBQ and look for Mexican food places. Stay away from fast food. But if you insist...just look for a Popeyes like you said.

The texmex and bbq places you get in texas will be the best food there. They are fucking amazing. I am from the north but I visited a few months ago and the bbq and texmex blew me away.
Fast food is kinda lame, people just eat it cuz it's easy. But if you insist I like whataburger since you're in the south. As for candy, again, it kinda blows, but you can walk into any convenience store I guess lol. If you want really good sweets get some classic southern desserts like peach cobbler or apple pie.

Tip 20% if they provided you some kind of service. If they didn't do anything but it prompts you to tip on the pay pad you dont actually have to.
If you go to a sit down restaurant with a waiter, tip 10%-20%. Otherwise, don't tip.
Go to Dutch Bros and go a Rebel energy drink (basically a red bull with added syrup so it's even more sweet)
Definitely try Popeyes, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A for fast food
Just so you know whataburger is the shittiest fast food burger ever. I was told from locals that their chicken strips is what to order and they weren't good either, better then their burgers though. Texmex wasn't good, I would rather get real Mexican food. Brisket, steaks and ribs were world class though.
Don't forget to go on shooting range or hunting

And Mexican food, the country is just next door and lots of Mexicans live in Texas so you'll find the real stuff not some fast food version.

If you're gonna get fast food in Texas, I would get a whataburger. Hands down the best fast food burger I've had. Overall, I stay away from fast food otherwise; BBQ is a must like everyone else has said and the best place to get it is from a mom and pop shop (small local place). I would definitely get TexMex as well. Great options and have fun!
Try In-N-Out Burger, I think they have it in Texas.

Honestly I would go to a gas station (Circle K or QT if nearby). And I would grab some candy and a cherry cola. I personally prefer sour gummy worms cause they’re goated. Whataburger is a dope restaurant too. It’s hard to recommend anything local since I don’t live in Texas. Hope you have a good time though!

get mexican food but make sure its not some super fancy place those tend to be less authentic
sometimes fast food is a gamble depending on what day/time you go because sometimes its just not good or has been sitting out and just soggy other times its pretty good and cooked perfect

if you're in texas get some BBQ, good mexican food (you can ask for recs on reddit if you're on of those people), depending on where you are in texas there is good vietnamese food. tbh you should mostly be looking for local places, nothing super fancy

mexican candy - Lucas brand is good, personally I prefer the alamo candy company which is texmex
shady looking shacks offering mexican food or bbq +1
- p.s. they less open they are the better, (maybe xD)
- depending on how long you are there, try different types of mexican, i love jalisco food
mangonadas and other tasty drinks from shady shacks - jamaica is my personal favorite - hibiscus flavor
dont be afraid to eat or try snacks/drinks from weird looking places and forget in-n-out fans
