Sorry, I only included tier 1 events. The ones you named are tier 0 Ok now fr, this could be a continuation to the list so thanks :)
2023-05-28 12:52
X sweet X isn't a thing no more so I'd put Melbourne in there at third

I honestly think they stopped hosting X sweet X tournaments so that people stop asking questions about the LAN tournament that those X sweet X cups were meant to qualify you for. They're still hosting tourneys, just under different names like Pinnacle, Brazy party, Roobet, etc.
2023-05-28 12:52
in this case ef really is tier 1

Under what condition are you ranking these? Hype, Prestige, difficulty, legacy, etc.

Too good to be on the list

any blast event = trash, only partner teams allowed = fake competition.

I know that partnered events have become a problem but, these events are still big. Also, this shit only started happening recently (tier 2 teams playing better than tier 1 teams), and partnered events have been going on for a while. Just a year ago you could tell the difference between tier 1 and 2. I do hope Blast changes this though

partner events only created a problem now because only now has enought time passed to partner events create some sort of a bubble effect, specially EPL, it started with the best teams becoming partners with its players but as time passed it ended up being the same teams competing with almost the same players between them and this is where the bubble starts, they get used to play against the same players and teams, the top tier got stale, playing good or bad they farm ranking points that got them in cologne and kato keeping the bubble alive then the major happens and upstets start to happen, take in consideration that EPL went on with the partner system in 2020 and blast series came on also in 2020 and if we look at upsets in the major circuit the trend of t2 teams upstets starts to take form with the Antwerp major in 2022 where we see teams like EF, CPH flames, forze, entropiq, mvs riders coming up to the majors and then rio happened and then paris it would be a good topic for an article in hltv

there is always a difference between the tiers, tier1 is tier1 for a reason, and i mean the real tier1 not what people now days call tier1 for some reason... its not teams that fight head to head with each other and can beat each other, its the teams that make deep runs at big events. Like i dont think we will see ITB doing anything for the rest of their roster life. Of course they have far less opportunity to qualify for those events, but for some they do have chance to qualify and if they don't its their fault.

+1 ESL does have a few partnered teams, but it aint really a problem cuz like you said, there are qualifiers for these events and most of the partnered teams deserve to be there. Only problem is Blast, their events are only for partnered teams with their only exception being World Finals, which still favours partnered teams but at least you get winners of both pro leagues and the major (this year) and the best of those partnered teams so it's quite competitive.

problem is its blast ranking and their ranking heavly favour their tournaments...

Yeah that's what I said. It's much better than fall and spring finals but it still favours partnered teams... If Blast fix this, World finals could be up there with cologne and kato I think.

naaaah hell fuckin nah, 8 team event vs 24 team event are u joking?

Imagine if World finals had the winners of each big event: Kato, Cologne, Majors, pro leagues and both blast events. But that isn't likely at all so nvm

1. Majors (too bad they have the worst format out of all of them) 2. Cologne 3. EPL and other IEM Events 4. World Final and Spring and Fall Finals (would be 2nd or 1st unfortunately they changed the format from double elimination to this for whatever reason) 5. Katowice (unbelievably dead crowd) rest irrelevant

Would’ve been respectable if Katowice was also second…

cologne or kato can never be on the level of the major, the prestige is far too high
2023-05-28 15:37
Put #6 at #5 and I agree also where is gamers8 festival????
2023-05-28 15:37

The reason I put 5 above 6 is Intel Grand Slam, other IEMs also contribute to it so they are more important imo. Also, I think competition is better at 5. And Idk if gamers8 is annual

Blast World Final is trash and definitely worse than any IEM event or EPL. Regular IEM events are better than EPL as well
2023-05-28 16:00
1. majors 2. cologne, katowice 3. esl pro league 4. any iem 5. any banana cup
2023-05-28 16:12
Yall hate on blast partnership but a navi g2 blast group stafe would have more viewers than a monte gl major quarter final major
2023-05-28 16:24
iem and blast finals are literally on the same level of irrelevancy. nowadays the only respected tournaments are majors, cologne and katowice. the rest is just filler
2023-05-28 16:28
Agreed although I'd switch 5 and 6

I really enjoyed brazy party. How the casters and analysts were supposed to keep saying brazy. xD
2023-05-28 19:31
Sometimes IEM Katowice or Cologne can be better than majors imo Cologne 2022, Katowice 2022 > Paris 2023, Rio 2022 (apart of furia's matches)
