Cats cant be treated like cattle, you need to let them go outside and get some fresh air or they will have stress. They arent meant to be caged I do know that it's also dangerous (let them go outside) though but id rather take this risk than raise him in a wrong way

Depends on the cat, my cats hate the outdoors. They're also dreadful for the environment and are extremely likely to get ran over because people don't give two shits about cats including those that would rather run over a cat than be late for work.

No they don't? Most people have only 1 cat, what pack do they have? They only see you as a provider, as soon as you stop feeding them they will become either hostile towards you or simply leave. A dog will never do such a thing (of course if it isn't mistreated or beaten or abandoned as a pup)

Cats are obviously more selfish/self-sufficient than dogs, this is pretty much hardwired into them. This can be both a good and a bad thing depending on what you want out of your pet. I would want utility in a pet, which is why a dog is the obvious choice for me personally. Cats are useless in that sense. But so are certain dogs. A chihuahua is just as uninteresting to me as a cat.

Cats are fantastic in their own way. I love dogs too but a cat can steal your heart for sure. If you learn how to train a cat and what are its needs and tells, you will have an awesome companion for a long time. Unfortunately, cats are often misunderstood in their needs and behavior signs hence many people complain. Cats can be cool. I don't own them because I'm allergic, but I've had one in the past who was an exceptional pet (excluding being messy). The issue is cats can be extremely variable in temperament compared to dogs. I'm much more of a dog person in that sense, because I know a well-trained dog is always going to be a great pet.
