HooXi dilema

Other XyleneCobalt
On one hand he got them their first 2 trophies in 5 years. On the other, I feel like keeping him is just delaying the inevitable. Can they really stay consistent with someone so consistently bad? His calling doesn't even seem that amazing. I'm no expert but other teams and analysts keep making comments on mistakes G2 makes midround. Should they just rip off the bandaid?

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
They should hunter IGL and get new talent.

That's what I was thinking. He already seems very vocal in the team. Imagine someone that can frag from the bitch roles.

If we are talking about general impact, then hunter is way over there. With much less does way more, doesnt need space as of now to perform unlike NiKo, and does his job well. Neither will I say NiKo is or isnt better than HuNter, but the kid compared by kd Hunter with NiKo which is stupid at the very least.

constantly happening. NiKo dissappears in the most important moments. G2 vs Fnatic. JKS -> 1.3 kd NiKo -> 1.07 kd

And if you wanna look at katowice's whole event stats, then you have jks with a 1.24 kd the whole event, and hunter with a 1.21 the whole event. NiKo doesnt even appear.
2023-06-01 18:58
If hunter was an igl they would've flopped in katowice.

ofc but his point is get someone else who also has firepower + hunter igl then is Hunter the kind of player who shines only when he never leads, or does he sometimes shine and sometimes not regardless of calling or not. There is few players like this that just frags like Jame Cadian even Apex even tho its rarer
2023-06-01 17:14
It makes sense, turn hunter into electronic 2.0 so he does half of the kills and impact and he has no idea what to do midround... Having NiKo and hunter on the team has to be great to get info during the round but they need a dedicated igl
2023-06-01 17:23
Hunter IGL=Rip like electronic
2023-06-01 17:33
ah yes me Hunter me IGL me NiKo me AWP solves every problem

Why would you do him dirty like Electronic?

+1 this is the truth. in tier1 counter-strike you dont need a 0.6 rated bot to "teLL yOu WhErE tO gO" - everyone already knows this and can be practiced before games with a coach. USELESS IGL'S NEED TO BE OBLITERATED

Dude G2 literally lost to Heroic who are fucking amazing in the group stage why are you so over your heads about this one? I mean surely you weren't expecting G2 to beat Heroic in the group stage I mean he's still led the team to comfortable wins vs opponents they're supposed to win against

Losing and getting absolutely humiliated are different things. Yeah they werent supposed to win vs heroic but they were supposed to do something.

Not against heroic group stage warriors I can agree that 1 round on Ancient CT is just horrendous but the inferno score isn't all that surprising

i think fragging igls will become more prevalent, im sure hooxi has pretty decent calls but he just cannot output damage in the games to make use of the calls, so when a rifler has a somewhat worse day then g2 will probably lose the match. to compare say siuhy, he can make decent calls in the rounds while still getting kills, which probably contributed to GL getting into finals

What's the next step? 5x fragging igls in one team each perfectly reading enemy and situation?

not saying the igl has to be a top fragger, just not on the bottom of the leaderboard with a 0.5 kd every time
2023-06-01 16:56
I disagree. Siuhy in GL plays star player roles, while Hooxi plays entry and holds b or support positions on most maps (except Vertigo where he plays rotation, still just stares at mid constantly do). Idk how people think you are supposed to frag while in those roles. Ofc i'm not saying that Hooxi is god aimer, there is definitely something that needs to be improved, but if you look at this stats vs top 20 or even 10, they have improved massively since he joined the team. The problem is just that he plays worse against better opposition, which definitely comes with versing literal god aimers. He has to improve there, but I don't think Siuhy is the solution. Look how good Navi were with Boombl4. He played the same roles as does Hooxi now and they were beasting, even do he didn't get that many kills. It's the system that works. I just think that their ct side is actually where they suck the most. They need a new coach or an extra coach to let Hooxi focus on antistratting and t sides more. In an interview Niko said that he want Hooxi to focus more on CT side and their own game, while I think what Hooxi does best is their T-side game prep and their anti strats. I don't know why they don't explore the option that Astralis did, where they have 2 coaches, that apparently has helped Glaive, and it's definitely boosted their game a lot
2023-06-01 16:41
siuhy calls in spawn. acor does most of the mid round calls. and i dont think siuhy would be the right fit for G2. he would crumble, trying to contain the egos on the roster. i think you are right, tho. the future igl has to do better with his rifle in duels, instead of seeking info straight out of spawn.
2023-06-01 16:50
The reason they won those 2 titles and had a good short run has pretty much nothing to do with hooxi. They were still tactically playing worse than other top teams but the players just hit good form at the same time and all 4 just won a lot of solo rounds and unfavourable situations by skill. Goes without saying that most likely we'll never see that peak again with this roster.

Bro it has everything to do with Hooxi, do you even remember their structure before he came to the team. How they used to play with Aleksib? Their inferno was dogwater. Niko was playing rotator instead of monesy??? When Hooxi came, it changed a lot, and btw the coach and the team was in conflict on how to structure their game, in which the Coach just entirely left the team without even saying anything after they lost the mayor qualifier. Talk about some loyalty or drive for the team. I heard he went to help vitality win their last mayor when he wasn't even with the team. They need a new pair of eyes is what they need. Some experienced coach to help them. I wish the EG coach that used to coach CPH joined G2. Him and Hooxi had great synergy, this would obviously do a lot more. No hate to Swani, but he has a different set of skills that I think are better as an analyst and t-sided, not ct-sided or helping with their individual game or mistakes.

If you've been watching Dallas, there's reason to believe the bandaid is already ripped off and it's just a matter of being out of this last tournament before the player break to officially announce it.

LOL, Swanii was in the team for 4-5 years, with NEXA as igl, who was a fragging IGL btw, Aleksib, who people rate very highly and also puts up a good individual score and on top of that you had XTQZZZ coach Aleksi and G2. When Hooxi won it was after the coach left because he disagreed with the vision they had on the game and he couldn't cope. He left without even saying much against the players, let alone against hooxi as he said in a interview. Afterwards they won both events. How tf is that not Hooxi?

2023-06-01 17:16
i fully get the kick-hooxi argument. but i have a hard time seeing the replacement. siuhy wont be the right match. and you wont see GL perform like they did in the major ever again. they had the time of their life, just like cph flames a few majors back. the same goes with apeks, into the breach and BNE.
2023-06-01 17:03
its only a dilemma if you think hooxi is the main reason they won
