Yes, if the person you mute is dumb, he wouldn't give any info. You can get the info with sound, util, radar, so you still get enough info not to play arma levels of fog of war

+1 on IGLs calling bullshit strats. They don't really even call a strat, just give directions....
'Go 2 Long 3 Short' ok np, but enemy team has been taking short every round and you've give the team nothing to deal with that, so they'll just run in and die. They just speak for the sake of speaking with no thought into how enemy team is playing, ends up silver rush every round

In general, even a shit plan is better than no plan it all. People at least know where others are. And there is nothing stopping you from adding to the plan you feel needs adjusting.

I IGL'd for years before a 2 year break, i'd link my HLTV player profile but rather stay anonymous on this. (I was t2-3 player nobody big). Pugs I take a break from leading just to focus on my own performance.
However, in pugs. If no strat is called, people will play for picks and generally go into a default, which works better than funnelling everyone into a choke point with no real direction, except knowing they have to be there.
Mainly because higher level players (I'm 2.9k elo atm) will flank based on early information, knowing how to react perfectly to an A split and if the whole team is there with no one lurking or holding a flank, the round is fucked.
In pugs it's easier just to play off good spawns for early control of a certain part of the map and call from there, as there's no structure to what the enemy team is going to do.

if you said calls are overrated, probably yeah, just default all the way and play off trades you don't really need to go in depth with strats but comms? bro if you look at how many 16-14s you lost in your match history and realize how you've missed on hundreds of elo just because of 1 round with poor/lack of communication even if it's just superficial standard stuff and how it turned a +25 into a -25 you'll start giving more value to it (not talking about calling a position you just died to, that's super basic and probably the least important of the comms, but sound cues, rotations, if you're gonna make a play and I should make time for you or vice versa, if you saw or heard a stack somewhere, shit like this). I used to think like you, but at current state I'm 3k elo and I'm probably playing about as good as I used to play on 2.4k elo, the only difference being that I decided to give a shot at making more concise comms and encouraged my mates to do the same. Pretty much resulted in losing far less of those damn rounds that you shouldn't lose and that end up costing you a 16-14 or a 19-17 loss and turning them into dubs.

+1, wtf do people mean comms are overrated? how many trades do you lose cause some guy with a1s kills you and ur teammate doesn't comm where he was and it's impossible to tell? Or you lose a 1v1 because ur mate doesn't call where he saw the guy running on death cam etc.

my stats are better 1.5x-2x when i play voice_enable 0, i am to sensitive to people's voices and shit. being 27avg 1 k/r player is way more useful than 18avg 0/5 kr player who's trying to call something.
and pls understand me right - im not toxic at all, i dont judge anyone for their plays/stats etc. its good that other players create space for me and do their "shit" igl job.
i am 3200 rn and trust me i was so bad at 2200 because i tried to listen my teammates and sometimes call them something, trying to communicate in mid round etc. its not worth it. its pug. u're not a team, u're just 10 randoms

And yea I have lost numerous rounds because of misleading info obviously and no one likes that, but I guess that I'm the type of player who is willing to hear what's going on in parts of the map where I have no idea even if some info here and there isn't fully accurate, than just not having any of the juice of what's going on in the round, and this applies for maps for example like Ancient where in my opinion it's good to know whether you got A main cleared early round, how many Ts are taking mid and how many Ts are playing bombsites, maps like inferno that depend a lot on rotations and things like that, I'm down to hear rather than just playing the guessing game all along. One thing I can agree with you fully is that I also play better individually when I'm comming less and there's not much noise during the game, your alert and focus increase considerably imo but yeah as I said I'm more of the type of guy that will prioritize collective more than just my own aim duels. I know I can't win a game just off aim duels in "high" elo, especially if i'm put in many impossible retake situations and I missed timings/gambles I could've not missed if I could hear a specific information. But yeah each to his own I guess, I understand your point.

do you have more than one microphone connected to your computer? Try setting whatever microphone you actually want to use as the windows default, in ur windows settings. Then CSGO will use that microphone. I had to do this to use an external mic instead of my headset mic

unfortunately for me I fall asleep if I hear nothing but game sounds when I'm soloq, don't care enough about random faceit to stay awake when enemies wait for pushes for 2 mins and execute last 10 seconds

Sometimes games do be like that. Generally my teammates start fighting 1/3 games or so, in which case I do my best to calm them down, and if that doesnt work I just mute and play my own game.
Some people are very frustrated in life, so online games are the perfect place to take out all that anger on unsuspecting randoms. Best thing to do is to ignore such people. If a guy is flaming me in particular, that is usually best case scenario for our team, because I know how to handle them. “GREEN WHAT ARE U DOING U NOOB WHY U THROW U LOOSE US GAME”; “my bad bro”
Just dont give them a reason to be angrier than they already are. It doesnt matter if they’re right or wrong, the round is over, just tell they that they are being heard and admit the mistake, even if there was no mistake. By far the most effective way. They want conflict, they dont actually care about the game, and there is no harm in trying to handle those people gently to increase the chances of a win

you can also lower each player's volume all the way to zero (so you cant hear them but they can hear you), and use cl_chatfilter 0 (so you wont see text chat but still can type and they can see).
if we had Valorant's pinging system where you can ping stuff after you die, the game would be more fun with muted teammates, at least you could still give info and not be the reason of lose because of lack of comm.

+1, that's really the only rule I follow too. Getting automuted in this game isn't easy and it's not for trivial reasons. If you get tilted once and insult someone that won't get you automuted, you have to consistently be a toxic player to get automuted, so I just don't unmute those players.

I am not in that stage yet, but I mute toxic guys who seem to play CS just to argue (sad lives), and then try to play with adequates.
faceit should require MRI brain scan of everyone before playing, nobody seems to have it
Especially in SA faceit is so much bad , even MM is better
