While G2 did play bad, Heroic just played insanely well and had 0 mistakes - everything they did happened to be a perfect move.
But both G2 and Faze are not in the top shape, while odds are better for Faze - either of teams can show up and win. And either of teams can shit the bed

And do you understand what you just wrote? Winning two back to back events doesn't erase all the chokes that came before or after. Even if you are want to talk about the whole lineup, here are the chokes against much low ranked opposition/players
Lost against 1win, Gamerlegion at Rio RMR (and not even make it to the major as a result)
Lost against 9ine at Paris RMR
Lost against BNE, Fnatic at Paris Major
And don't get me started on the giving up the lead against decent teams. It's really funny the only argument you have is those two events

Youre bringing up a major from last year that faze went 0-3 in legends. They wont just as many games as g2 that major and please dont act like they didnt just change igls and a whole core of a team before entering that major. FaZe lost to ITB at the major? Well, by the metrics you used for comparison was the team core.
So based on that, the team core for G2 would roughly be 1.5 year period, with it being 5 months since the Lan win, you refer to.
So a year, if you want to use consistent metrics.
On the other hand, if nitpicking different metrics, to suit a specific narrative, well.. that makes the whole discussion a lot more irrelevant..

Except you can't win a game playing 2v8,
the difference between now and kato / WF, is hunter and jks were hitting practically career peaks, they will simply not replicate this, and this form was bailing them out hard here, and HooXi was putting up good numbers for his role, where now, he's back to gigabot form.

Yeah but your previous comparison was that of jks / hunter in career peak form, now its playing well. I don't doubt their impact will be heard, but when your best 2 players are only playing good, vs FaZe who activate in playoffs usually, then I don't see it as enough.
It depends more on how faze show up, broky looking good, and twistzz showed high potential. We shall see

It's possible. Let's be honest, Cadian was on fire on Inferno and Ancient is just fail for G2. Heroic were just better prepared for G2 on Inferno than G2 was for Heroic. G2's only shot at that game was winning Inferno and taking it to a 3rd map.
G2's map pool has too many weaknesses that a smart team will exploit. They have a great Inferno, decent mirage and for some reason they don't play nuke after losing it to fnatic. Outside of that Vertigo may as well be a forfeit, Ancient and Anubis are just weak. It's to the point, they may as well permaban Vertigo and roll the dice on Overpass. Any smart team will pick Vertigo, Ancient or Anubis for a good chance to win a map. Steal G2's pick and it's an easy 2-0.
