ESL COLOGNE TEAMS

Slovakia xaboff
I added the points from Dallas to the ESL WR and these are teams that should qualify (I didn't account for decay and Challenger Kato, but those shouldn't make a difference) directly qualified based on Kato, EPL, Rio, Major and Dallas: G2 FaZe Vitality ENCE/mouz directly qualified based on ESL WR: Heroic C9 NaVi Ence/Gamerlegion qualified to play in via global ESL WR: Gamerlegion/Liquid Liquid/Furia Furia/mouz Apeks 9ine fnatic pain qualified to play-in via regional ESL WR: EU: monte NIP Astralis NA: Complexity MIBR SA - Imperial AS - Mongolz OCE - grayhound German Championship winner: BIG Academy, ATN ATTAX or EPIC DUDES

I ALSO FORGOT ABOUT BLAST SPRING, but all the teams playing in the final are already qualified so it shouldn't make much of a difference

UPDATE: The new rankings are out, and after a few things I forgot to consider and/or a small error in my math, there's 2 changes. Forze took over the last EU playin spot for Astralis(Astralis got a couple less points for Dallas than I anticipated), however the difference is only 5 points, and with Astralis playing Blast Final and ForZe only playing Challenger Kato, I believe that no matter where either of them finish, Astralis will get more points than ForZe. Both teams may still qualify if one of the teams (most likely fnc) disbands their core of 3, or they both get enough points to beat Nip, who are 38 points ahed of ForZe. Next in line are: BIG, ITB, OG. Change #2: due to a small NA tournament and (most likely) decay for MIBR, Nouns took away MIBR's last NA playin spot.

shouldn't half those teams not make it on the basis of changing 2/3 players? Like Mongolz or Fnatic

for mongolz, even points from their 3 players are more than points for the next asian team. for fnatic im not sure, gonna check rn

great can't wait for the 8th best asian team to make it to a tier 1 tournament because of one fluke event

it's not just that. they consistently manage to win qualifier to s tier events and win at least one game to not finish last (last place gives no points), which gives them more points than winning the asia challenger league

well if fnatic actually change 3 players then none of their points will count since they lose their core of 3. the next team in line will be OG

Which won't go to cologne cuz they will lost at least 3 of their players xd

how did you add the points from dallas? do they update after every match? so if ence wins dallas, GL are qualified directly to the main event of cologne?

furia is one spot under gl rn so i think they got it for now. it will be up to who makes most changes in the end, and furia will 100% make some.
2023-06-05 21:17
This is not how slot allocation works. Regional Slots will always be given BEFORE world ranking slots. Meaning the NA spots will be taken by Liquid and Furia

So Astralis have definitely qualified for play-ins? Is this confirmed? Will be a huge sigh of relief coz I'm sick of the pain of seeing Astralis miss out on S-Tier events and having to watch on without them.

Spirit should get a free pass because they have donk
2023-06-05 21:09
Just realised monte and forze are listed under cis teams at pro.eslgaming.com/worldranking/csgo/rank.. . Meaning they wont get invited to the playins with the eu slots right ?

For some time now (idk since when, but maybe since major qualifiers stopped being split between eu and cis) esl stopped differentiating between eu and cis for invites. They still keep the rankings separate and also use them to determine the strength of an event (besides size and prestige, they also factor in which regions take part in a event.)
2023-06-07 18:39
Wait don’t furia and liquid get invited to main event based on being best teams from NA?

No, the spots for the main event are only based on the world ranking
