twitch KILLING esports
 |
Hungary szia
youtube.com/watch?v=-5zGuFPxW88 twitch no longer allows ad banners or prerecorded ads on streams. sponsored logos cant be bigger than 3% of the screen size. this basically kills off any possibility of sponsorship being viable for a brand. so brands no longer have any reason to sponsor any streamer or event. and when basically all of tournament organizers money comes from sponsorships, goodbye csgo events and shit.

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
They are just digging up their grave. They have so much feedback and still decide to do the exact opposite for money not realising that if they actually improved stuff they would get more money in the long run.

some analyst from some consulting firm paid 2k$ per day probably said otherwise so obviously they made the right decision (they didn't)

I would assume Twitch will allow esports events to maintain the ads, it's probably more about targeting a certain demographic in creators.

We still have youtube, maybe some other streaming platform will gain popularity after recent events. Also, blast tv is kinda bussin, I've been watching entire major on their platform. Csgo events aren't going anywhere, I just hope that twitch is going to die

I think if youtube made a separate streaming app instead of integrating it inside the existing youtube (when u can barely find streams) and fixed chat UI and replicated twitch chat, I think it would easily attract whole twitch community. they already have huge numbers in steaming as far as i know, as big as twitch if not bigger, but maybe i'm wrong.

i personally think ESL should go back to facebook gaming
2023-06-07 19:52
it aint that bad. some channels will definitely move elsewhere, but the smarter ones alrdy did that.
2023-06-07 07:22
twitch is also killing gaming, not saying they intended to do so but the twitch culture can make games obsolete due to streamers jumping on new games and other social media factors. New kid mentality is this, if my streamer is not playing the game the game is bad, if twitch numbers are decreasing on a certain game it means it's bad, there have been many good games that have fallen off the face of the Earth do to this mentality, one of them is PUBG.

It's the opposite way around, streamers playing a certain game can artificially revive or keep a game alive, them not playing the game doesn't kill the game, it just brings the game back to its natural course

when its an ESL or BLAST event and is available on youtube, i do, but those are like the only 2 TO's that are consistently on youtube. the vast vast vast majority of events are exclusively on twitch not to mention its only ever the english streams on youtube. thats no problem for me, but what im trying to say is that essentially the only streams/events that arent exlusive on twitch are from 2 TOs and for just 1 language

i guess i mostly watch big events and occasionally watch finnish matches on twitch so i havent even paid attention to which events arent on youtube. Generally i prefer the english broadcast over the finnish one regardless of the platform

You somehow make it sound like the two, by far, biggest organizers in CS:GO are a small minority of events, lmao. On top of that, I'm sure there are more. There's also PGL for example, who hosts all their events on YouTube as well.
2023-06-07 11:16
I just like to watch events on my TV , so I watch on YouTube Also the streaming quality is better than Twitch

Youtube is matrix platform like rumble... they shuold start streaming esport on rumble
2023-06-07 11:00
I hope one day we get a genuine twitch competitor. Awful platform, always hated it, absolute dogshit but stays afloat because of it's popularity. Its either twitch or that gambling streaming platform where Ice Poseidon lurks like a goblin
2023-06-07 08:54

stays afloat because of no alternative. YouTube streaming services are garbage and others are mostly some casino shit like kick or random chinese platforms. If there was an actual legit streaming platform, I guess a lot of people would switch despite twitch's popularity. So basically what you said but I don't think popularity would be the issue if we had an alternative

For the streamers start do something for their show quality THMESELVES instead of building up viewing mass, shout out business e-mail and thrive. Good point for me, but Im not keen at this subject. Might be wrong :)

meanwhile they have the most intrusive advertisements I've ever seen, even worse than virus websites I used to click on as a kid lol
2023-06-07 09:13
They could just go to YouTube, sure YouTube has similar problems but they're far more likely to get away with it there as YouTube isn't as financially unstable as Twitch given that twitch just shits out money and doesn't benefit amazon what so ever.

Twitch is just digging their own grave at this point, they have been for a little while now, and this will surely be one of the final nails in the coffin. The migration process from Twitch to other platforms has already started, so people won't be afraid to abandon Twitch after such an out of touch, greedy change.

End of the day what do you expect from such a corporation? I hope streamers grow some balls and stop sucking of the tit of amazon because it will only get worse from here fucking communist.

They're just salty so much money involved in their platform not passes through them and they don't make a cut from it, so fuck it, nobody gets it now.
2023-06-07 11:30
Esl is big enough to make their own stream
2023-06-07 11:36
I hope everyone just switches to Youtube it's 100x better.
2023-06-07 11:36
You can still do ads your self live, but big brands are not eager to let anyone do that. Most of them have this vet process where they will check out the ad before you air it in order to make sure it's up to their desires. Only biggest of brands like LTT get away with live ads because they've built connections over the years so big sponsors let them do it live. So yeah, even if there is a room for an ad, it will reduce the income from them significantly because many brands won't accept to do that and will just move and sponsor people on youtube instead. It's a huge blow for a bottom line of so many streamers.
2023-06-07 11:40
ppl in here has internet explorer? it was misunderstanding and it was said 20 hours ago xD nothing will happen it was about media companies selling real ads with audio and video to streamers themselves instead of twitch.

KICK is a platform made by STAKE Casino (so actually almost unlimited funds, just like amazon) And it starts to be more and more popular, so im happy cuz twitch is such a leftist shithole promoting naked women to children, and you have to be aware what you say 100% of the time because if you say/write on chat something wrong you will get banned
