I think this is nicely thought out and written thread but i don't have anything of value to add so have a bump c:

Great points, Also G2 needs to stop tilting when things are not working for them especially NiKo. The moment they starts tilting and getting frustrated, is where they lose their game.

I ain't reading all that (bump)

I ain't reading all that. I'm happy for u tho. Or sorry that happened.

Stopped reading after "or to a combo of 2"

G2, just like C9 aren't winning anything because twice a day I pray on their downfall. (amount may vary on matchdays)

I may be wrong but imo there’s 2 issues:
1. Hooxi doesn’t trust his mechanics and is always trying to make a crazy play to provide value and often gives up man advantages due to this. It’s a common misconception that his raw aim is THAT bad, it’s not, his micro decision making for himself is just awful
2. Niko, M0nesy and hunter don’t seem to always trust the plan and try for insane solo plays as soon as anything goes wrong.

I have strong feeling HooXi will get even worse in CS2 so
-HooXi
+Siuhy
Also
+TaZ as coach (might be NEO as well)
Incredible experience and huge knowledge + such a legend in team would bring motivational boost and authority over individualities like NiKo

"The solution is choosing one of them to be the main guy being feed the entries and the carry duty, and the other 3 just play their roles as 2nd stats. That fixes the streakyness of this team."
That doesn't even make sense. You never played competitive in your entire life. Not on a serious level atleast.

not agree
g2's problem - lacking structure plays and set-ups on CT-sides. Clear as water.
If I was swani, I would just take NiKo 1v1 to some restaurant, and we will have like 5 hours of talking about CS philosophy. NiKo mindset is basically "noo, I died because my aim is bad, I need to train my aim 5 hours and then I will push and kill everyone becaus my aim is goodest!"
But thats not HOW counter Strike works in my philosophy, you cant just play by urself. NiKo NEVER in his life played in hard-system style teams like Heroic, Astralis. I would literally turn NiKo into 1.3 rating machine, if he stops trying playing solo

"long ass thread" blud it's 300 words

Interesting, but I kinda disagree. I think they usually preferentially set m0nesy or NiKo up over jks and hunter. I think a lot of their streakiness is due to NiKo's individual streakiness (and m0nesy's to a lesser extent). Like, if you're setting someone up to be a 1.3+ carry and they only go 1.1, you'll probably lose.
The team has pretty good chemistry that shows in clutch situations. I personally wish that this team play showed better in early to mid round, rather than just starting with Niko/m0nesy go kill

disagree on the hooxi fragging part, snappi in terms of fragging clears hooxi and karrigan. 0.94 rating and a 0.95 rating against top 5, top 10 and etc. Hooxi and Karrigan are barely at above a .8 rating
2023-06-07 22:17
Monesy too young and inconsistent to have to whole game turning aroung him
NiKo = Choko , will always be the best till he's average
Hunter = Very good rifle , won't be more
Jks = good role player , nothing else
2023-06-07 22:21
I don't blame only Hooxi for that, but their teamplay is very often poor. They have been together for a long time now and they still do random individual pushes.
They rely way too much on monesy or hunter performance. Rn, Hunter is not performing. So, they are struggling to close matches.
I don't think kicking hooxi will solve this problem, but JKS + hunter are not a good duo on ct sides.
Basically, their ct side is not meta at all in some maps. Nuke is probably the exception.

I would strongly argue that it's the clash of a few things.
First, m0nesy is too static of an AWPer and I think that's by gameplan. The more successful AWPers are very mobile, s1mple, zywoo, broky and sh1ro are often bouncing around the map on CT side to get picks from different angles and confusing the offense. He has the skill but gets locked into holding angles.
Second is the combination of Niko's aggressiveness combined with HooXi's mechanics. Niko and HooXi usually are close to each other while on CT side. Niko can be super aggressive and sometimes that works. When it doesn't, Niko is rarely in a position to be traded and it leaves the least skilled member of G2 alone to defend by himself or forces rotates. It also adds pressure to G2 to try to be more aggressive and try to get a frag back.
The irony of the whole situation is the reason jks is so consistent is the game plan for him doesn't involve him doing too much. Anchor a bombsite. Nothing flashy or aggressive that m0nesy/Niko/hunter does. Niko also dry peeks AWPers way too often.

You know what team has everyone with plenty of space in the team, no "main star" and it works? Heroic.
It's the most consistent team atm (outside of the playoff chokes, but they still always get min. semis, which is something no other team is capable doing), and they don't have a "main guy" on any map that is constantly set up for success by others. Some think Stavn is that guy, but imo him being the best player on the team comes more from his consistency, not from high peaks or him getting set up for success.
In ideal world if G2 could manage to have all 4 players as equal stars (like Heroic has all their players), they could become as consistent as Heroic, but just with better players meaning their peak would be way higher.
Imo the thing they lack is good protocols, synergy and the basic stuff like effective trading, good utility usage (especially supportive utility like flashes), good comms & vibes on the team and just all in all everyone being on the same page. They are more like a super highly skilled FPL mix than a well together working team.
