McD's used to be cheap yeah, nowadays its pretty much the same price as a half decent restaurant. You can easily splash 25-35 euro on just 2 menus at McDonalds. I do live in Bulgaria so that factors in, but still.

It's all about getting to know the girl before committing further.
I have absolutely nothing against paying for everything during a date if the girl suggests a split or is very polite about it. But if she straight up expects me to pay for everything in an "oh that's what men are supposed to do" manner, it's better that she gets mad and leaves. Not relationship material in my eyes.

And you all have your answer, so if majority of girls wouldnt have a problem if they went to MC as long as their date is someone really handsome or famous etc, why the hell they wouldve with you ? You get the test ? So that is why is a big red flag.

The place doesnt matter if she is into you she might have great time even in the most whatever place on earth.
Now i dont know how mcdonalds look like in other countries but here are really clean and spacey etc. Nothing wrong to have a talk and great time with someone. Its the ideal place, surely not. But shouldnt be a big deal either.

It's not even about the price because she should pay for her own food anyway but it just shows how unimaginative you are. (Though the relationship does matter).
Do you really care about the girl if the best thing you could do is go to MCD. That person who would bring someone to MCD is the red flag. You can't even be bothered to put in the effort to make something good out of the date, no shit someone wouldn't be interested.
Now the story op is talking about is different because the girl was fine with MCD but not when the guy didn't want to pay for her food. That's a red flag.

The biggest issue in relationships the last 20 years or so is that women want a traditional man when they are exactly the opposite themselves.
If a woman does the move to pay, genuinely though which you can tell, on first date is one of the biggest GREEN flags i can have on a first date. Im paying though but still.
But there were a few times when i could clearly see them uninterested on me and really interested on the menu instead ordering the most expensive dishes etc, thinking ill pay for everything and they got in surprise. If you dont like me and we clearly lack chemistry which means we wont move on from a first date .. dont try to take advantage of it to eat the whole menu for free. Wont work.
