How are they the same? They have twice as many teams total. Proper 16 team events should of course have 8 team playoffs with 4 quarters. Both ESL and Blast have pretty trash formats but Blast events are just boring banana cups with their partner teams

Ah yea I didn't read well enough so misunderstood a little but yeah I agree, the 6 team playoffs like these are trash in both blast and esl events.

I guess they have to give the upper bracket winner some sort of advantage, like in bo5 finals when they get a default 1st map win.

Yes, skipping quarters is bad Just change the system: - More teams; - Not facing same team because more teams; - Instead of 3 out of 4 teams making to playoffs - Make it 4 out of 6 teams, so all 4 need to go through quarters; - Create an "RMR" outside, even if you wanna keep your partnered teams, so we get those 2 extra teams per group A & B; - (...) The thing is they only want 6 Teams in Arena so they only need 5 Bo3s spread into 3 days. It's difficult to run an arena for 12 hours, and fill it for 4 bo3s on a Friday.

There are 8 group stage games and 6 playoffs games in spring final. 2 days of group stage games and 3 days of playoffs. I see nothing wrong here.

Sorry, but it isnt good idea. A lot of teaams would travel long distance just to get smashed in first game because they had bad day. Group stage format is good because you need to establish fair seeding before playoffs. If you establish playoffs seeding based on months old results, its not fair.

I think it comes down to TOs not wanting to host Thursday matches in the arena, presumably for cost cutting purposes since they're by far the least attended days
