could you send a clip or something? because in 2018 he said he didnt think it was a good idea: twitter.com/ropz/status/9568730719688253..
2023-06-10 00:08
Don't think so, he joined MOUZ so he can do his education and play, and I remember he was studying in airports n shit, all I've seen is how he multitasked it so well, nothing about dropping out.

#38, cba to find the clip or the time stamp, but he talked about it in that co cast i think it was the apeks vs vitality semi final stream, 20 days ago, if you care that much to go look it up
2023-06-10 00:19
He can do whatever he wants after he retires or go to any college. I would hate to be a streamer though that is so boring

as much as CS is nice dropping out for CS education is really bad i think its my opinion but idk. Even if they are earning a lot they should have a potential job afterwards

From life experience, it's not the school that is important per se, it's the skill you are acquiring and becoming good at. You can gain a lot from college/university so it's not a statement against it, but what is really important if you want to be successful is the skill itself. Of course I'd never say it's a good idea to drop out of high school to go full time CS that is actually crazy.
2023-06-09 23:59

yeah that's what im talking its not even about degree drop out but its more like making it later in life is really handicapping you. Even if you are succesfull

Well if you take the decision he made back when he was 16 aside, his situation now is entirely different and his opportunities are more vast than the majority of people in the developed world. In the esport environment itself he still has a lot of time to be a top earner as a player, later he could take more managerial roles if he so chooses. Outside of esports you can live off investments fairly comfortably with the money he has, he likely already has a paid off home.
2023-06-10 00:05
1 reply
yeah thats true he can expand more in the direction of Esport like become manager or coach or perhaps maybe create his own org with some people.
2023-06-10 00:06
Yeah, maybe, I'm not that well-informed on the topic and the differences in each region of the world. But, I didn't finish school and I have a very good job and above average salary in Sweden. I work in IT. I know it's not possible in everywhere, but it's also possible to study later - if needed for the profession you're aiming for.
2023-06-10 00:23

Yeah i said but i just considered the fact that later on in the life you tend to be less like flexible and various other physical and mental things based ones

I did say that its important to have something to do in life i know they are learning a lot bro. But they would need to do a lot to get profession after dropout probably they would need to sign up for certain studies
2023-06-09 23:53
just in case you "fail" in the cs pro scene
2023-06-09 23:53
More like earning like 2,000,000+ for Twistzz's case :D

that's what i was talking about, people are talking about some pros not having degrees or future after cs while they don't even got one or work a shitty job probably, like how you expect for someone that earns 5 figure a month to not have a future? with all the network they have?
2023-06-09 23:55
5 replies
I think it's just people have a social standard when they have an "abnormal occupation" they expect its the norm for all. Twistzz can easily live off his cs earnings if he's smart, or he can stream and still make more than whatever he'd get for going to college lol.
2023-06-09 23:57
2 replies
Ding, ding, ding, these are the keywords "if he's smart". If he has or will learn how to handle the money properly before he's done with CS, he'll most likely be set for the rest of his life considering how much money tier 1 pro players earn these days. If he doesn't do that, he'll end up with no education, no valuable skills, and depleted savings by mid 30s, working a below average job for the rest of his life. It's reasonable to doubt a person if he's a high school dropout.
2023-06-10 00:18

I think you heavily overestimate a high school diploma lol. Do you truly believe if he didn't drop out he'd be more fungible with his funds or something? Obviously not, it would be absurd to say that, so the entire argument is disregarded, high school education or not the outcome is not effected
2023-06-10 00:25
2023-06-10 00:00
Nobody said they wont have future you can never put somebody out of the picture there are some really motivated people that had dropped out or just didn't make it and then returned with money and actually made a name for themselves
2023-06-10 00:07
well yeah they're making HUGE ton of money, so they can always get a degree or do another profession
2023-06-09 23:52
Yeah but Twistzz is a millionaire, he can afford to get his high school education later and get a college degree too. He has the funds available. He's hardly missing out on much either, school is just built to make you into a worker. Could easily make more streaming after his cs career anyway.
2023-06-09 23:53

It's pretty hard to get high school education later i mean i didn't say its impossible but its quite really hard no matter the money.
2023-06-09 23:54
5 replies
Depends on the country, not all that hard. Either way twistzz said he would be like an f1 driver if not for cs or a mechanic, go into a trade or smthn.
2023-06-09 23:55
4 replies
I think its not even based on country but its hard in different ways i mean if he plans to go on profession like mechanic or construction worker then its okay but to go into much more advanced profession you need to get really good degree and i can't imagine how hard it would be late life doing degree's all over. Like i said its incredibly hard unless your mentality is very strong
2023-06-09 23:58
3 replies
It's hard sure, but it's doable, and you're acting like he won't have all the free time in the world having no job and plenty of funds to work on.
2023-06-10 00:03
1 reply
I'm not saying like he won't have time i just said my opinion is that its kinda handicapping itself, he does have a lot to work with.
2023-06-10 00:03
its... not that hard... most people have a harder time later in life because they have to manage full time jobs and years of responsibility... if you have the money to just focus on your career, it wont be as hard... and having the discipline of a pro player studying will actually be a piece of cake. now i'm not saying he would do any of that, just that if thats the path he chooses, its a lot easier than becoming a pro tier 1 cs player xD
2023-06-10 01:10
cool, but you all are judging his actions from 2015 from the current perspective. hindsight is 20/20 now imagine what if he failed miserably and never made it to a good team
2023-06-09 23:59
4 replies
Yeah it's a different conversation ofc, but it depends, like are you lvl 5 faceit dropping out? Or are you literally getting contracts yknow? I think at the time Twistzz got a contract or was in TSM with seangares or smthn tho, so it makes sense ig.
2023-06-10 00:04
2 replies
from the timeline i understand he dropped out before signing with tsm, and even if not, tsm was his first big contract. it could have backfired at any time. just think bymas rn. played 2 years in t1 and he's been without a team for 1 year already. and he is only 19
2023-06-10 00:11
1 reply
Bymas is an example, but not a great one, he still made money money than 99.9% of people at his age, but you just have to think of some random who you dont even know who didn't make it. It's a gamble, I'm not gonna act like it's rewarding, but just comes down to your own determination perhaps.

Higher education exists to either get you a better paying job or to put you in crippling debt because you were an idiot that picked something stupid like game development or social studies. Twists dropped out and made a shit ton of money he pretty much made the right choice.
