What do you think are the most overrated skins in CS:GO? Here is my list. I will not be going over stickers here, just skins, but for another thread its worth talking about how snobby some people are over garbage sticker crafts. Gloves: Vice: The hype around vice is so insane, its so bad to the point where a lot of people think "yeah bro I dont care about gloves they look bad unless its Vice gloves and Vice are too expensive". The black and pink goes very well together imo, but this is a NICHE pair of gloves. A good pair of gloves should enhance the rest of your loadout and make other skins look better (or at the very least look great with your knife), but Vice gloves DO NOT look great with a lot of skins in the game, its only a suitable pair for a very very niche inventory that almost nobody goes for. Overrated. Pandora's box: Same problem with Vices, Pandora's Box are insanely hyped but they dont go well together with many skins, they fit even fewer skins than Vice (but the hype is not as high as Vice so). There are 5 other pairs of sport gloves im buying before these. Majority of fingerless gloves look awful, too. But this is about overrated skins and they are not rated that high. Knives: There are only a couple knife types that look good imo: Butterfly - Karambit - Bayonet (NOT m9) - Skeleton (but a lot of finishes look bad on skeleton) - Flip knife if youre an AWPer - Stiletto is an alright knife The rest of the knives look garbage. So when people talk about "nomad blue gem" I just facepalm, because nomad is a knife that looks like dog water, there is no such thing as a good nomad knife and this goes for the rest that isnt listed here as well. Then I wanna say something about knife finishes. Finishes like doppler, gamma doppler, crimson web, fade etc. they have tiny abrasions even at 0.00 float (and at 0.05 float they look battered) whereas other skins like autotronic have zero abrasions even at 0.30 float (it just gets a bit darker). These finishes perform better on a bayonet or a karambit than they do on a butterfly knife imo, on a butterfly theres a tiny dot that distracts from the look imo (and if its an 0.04 doppler it just looks so damaged) on a karambit its only noticeable on the corner and its not as bad. I dont really wanna go into detail with specific knife types of the bad ones, but I have to just mention talon knife and m9. M9 is just a far worse bayonet, it looks dog water, idk why anyone would play with such a clunky and awkward knife as an M9 when something like a bayonet exists. Im disgusted every time I see some1 with an M9. Talon knife is also a disgusting looking knife, the cream handle fits NOTHING and the whole shaft and blade is just too long. Like nobody should be taking an M9 over a regular bayonet, nobody should be taking a talon knife over a karambit. Disgusting knives and I dont rate anyone who consider these knives to be even decent. AK-47: Bloodsport: Meh Asiimov: White + Orange just doesnt go that hard together imo Case hardened: Eh, the 661 looks pretty good (and thats 0.01% of all case hardeneds), sure, but overall this is just overrated and atrocious. CH is pretty true to real/actual case hardening, so I like that it exists, it just doesnt look good imo. Hydroponic: Bad Vulcan: Dont like this one, if youre a cloud9 fan u can put some stickers on it and it can go well if you build your inventory around it, but this is not for me. Gold Arabesque: Looks like plastic (tho it seems most people are starting to notice that this is garbage gold so its not as overrated as it was when it first released) Fire Serpent: I wouldnt buy and use this skin if it was $50. Awful AWP: Dragon Lore: Trash (for the price) Medusa: Trash (the face is ugly) The Prince: Trash (for the price) Gungnir: Trash (but I understand if it fits your loadout but I rarely see that most just buy it randomly) Desert Hydra is the only great high-tier AWP. That is the best looking AWP skin. A4/A1S: There are some bad A4s and A1s but I dont feel like its too bad with the overhype on these, so I will let it slide. And same with Glock/USP. And the rest of the categories are with weapons where people dont care too much about the skins/the weapons arent used much.
