Skyrim is a good game. It is very atmospheric and has good world building. But it is essentially just a dumbed down version of Oblivion, which was already a dumbed down version of Morrowind. The storytelling in Skyrim is subpar compared to older TES games and you are far more limited in your choice as a player. It's more of an action RPG, rather than a pure RPG. Really the only major choice you have in the game is whether to be Imperial or Stormcloak. The city design is also questionable, places like Whiterun are built linearly to hold the players hand. I think the reason Skyrim was so popular was the sheer amount of content it has, combined with the newer graphics engine vs Oblivion and Morrowind. Even if the content isn't as focused or envisioned as the older games, it's not horrible and it's obvious the game was made to appeal to a wider audience for more money. That's really the downfall of Bethesda, valuing sales over vision. I personally think The Witcher 3 was a better game than Skyrim, although it has issues of its own.

+1 I played all fallouts and can confirm. Also played the friendly games like gta,etc and can say skyrim is much better than any single player game ever made. (I'm taking modding and all other stuff in account)

Legendary Edition is more than enough it doesn’t really need mods, or at least not that many that’s insane. Otherwise you’re right

Currently playing through it for the like 500th+ time with 140 mods active, idk if they're all working but it's so much fun.
