i mean believe it or not there's a lot of people watching CS who don't follow or understand the game very well, anders makes things very clear and welcoming for new viewers. He makes it easy to follow the game, his job isn't to give deep commentary, that is usually his partners job. Anders works well for what he is supposed to do

but i can understand this aspect is a matter of personal taste
what i can't stand is anders who is one of the longest casters out there and he's still shocked by something in every single match. just listen carefully... "thats shocking" "unbelievable"... so which match is actually believable?

Anders isn't even very deeply knowledgable about CS. He came to Thorin's podcast once and usually even the most dullest pro talk about the game really smartly there. In the Anders episode it was literally about him being a good guy.
Some of the casters dumb it down for the casual audience, but Anders I'm convinced doesn't have much insight at all. I guess they don't want to kick him out of casting because he's one of the OG and a nice guy

space, map control, real estate, -- being in a more analytical role, you do sometimes need a term for this, there are no two ways around it. its in the same way that you don't need to be calling a player an esports athelete just because you want to use a different word.
this is in no way the same level as repeating "i cant believe it" to describe a situation, which is often very believable when you actually have top tier players (and not silvers) in the events they cast.

It's impressive that he's so bad that it would be much better if they just mute his mic and let anders talk.
He does not understand the basics of talking, dynamics, building up the talk melodically, not even close. Not to talk about bs he says, we can ignore that - him building up the story for the map was a yawn and a half.
I do not think he's made for that job. To be fair, I do not even like him on the analyst desk but with this he gets to ruin actually good games.

The funny thing with Maui is that you can tell he thinks he's a great analyst and has this extensive knowledge of CS cause he made a couple vids and IGL'd a few shit ESEA teams. Hot take after hot take, dismisses anyone who disagrees with him or gives a counter-argument on Twitter, etc.
But his colour commentary is by far the worst? When "explaining" situations he uses such basic terminology to the point where a journalist interviewer could do the same. More often than not he just talks nonsense as well.
Always considered him a wanna-be Thorin. There's no surprise he's part of that crowd outside of events too.

honestly I thought his commentary got way better on the later matches. I think it was Imperial vs Heroic, sure the game helped but I enjoyed his casting a lot more than the first games I heard him on
On those he was really "negative" always bringing up some narrative that is good for the desk but not in game, but on Imperial Heroic he was very on point w the points he brought up, hyped as well in some plays and did a great job imo
He's a boring neck beard. Never anything interesting to say even as analyst.
Seems like an ok guy though.
