most UNDERRATED perfumes
 |
Bulgaria ramkain
So this guy asked for perfume advice: hltv.org/forums/threads/2786415/gigachad.. I decided to make this topic in order for HLTV to share its top favorite, yet underrated fragrances. Such worldwide, multicultural list would be amazing not only for travelers (you visit a country and you want to get a perfume from which as a remembrance), but also for people, fed up with overprice and not rarely disappointing perfumes. I suggest we give a bit of information about the perfume as well. I'll start. For me, the S-tier of underrated perfumes ( from like 20 ) is Osmanli Oud - Ottoman Rose. Its Turkish - those guys did something amazing - they took the scent of pear to create the most-Rose like smelling high quality perfume for very cheap price (like 40$). In my humble opinion, I would say this would be sold for at least 100$+ if it was made in France. Very elegant, suits well both male and female - you will feel like a prince with it. Your takes?

BO means body odour. Ignore my comment, just being an asshole. I don't wear perfume because I like the smell of nothing. Just a personal preference for scent free environment. Whenever I find someone wearing a strong fragrance, it causes discomfort. Maybe that's why I was a bit contemptuous in my original comment lol

I feel you. Smelling a strong fragrance is so unnatural, it's basically fake because the person doesn't really smell like it. Not interested in smelling this stuff.

Same, there are dudes that wear perfume in my gym and it freaks me the hell out, first of all bc it's making me feel nauseous, but I'm just baffled about the stupidity as well

Yea, that's textbook racism bud. It's important to educate ourselves about different countries before forming generalized opinions based on stereotypes. India is the most diverse country. Judging an entire population based on a biased and unfounded claim is unfair and perpetuates harmful stereotypes. Stop eroding your mind with /polturds to live a happy life & broaden your understanding of the world by reading good books. Good luck!

What? I wasn't even talking about your flag. I was talking about your name. That's textbook victim mentality bud. It's important to educate ourselves about others' exact opinion before making such allegations. Of course I know that India is the most diverse country. Judging an entire population based on a biased and unfounded claim is unfair and perpetuates harmful stereotypes. Stop eroding your mind and try to live a happy life & broaden your understanding of the world by reading good books instead of playing the victim card. Good luck!

currently using h24 edp by hermès, even if it might a be love/hate perfume for some due to the distinct scent, I'm just completely obsessed on it looking to get joop homme, really liked the scent and how it lasted on me considering it's quite inexpensive

idk how old you are, but man does every girl in my age just absolutely despise "true" earthy/woody/leather perfumes, I just don't see the viability of getting one as tbh I'm also not the biggest fan of them. not that I dislike it, but I just prefer other types. on the opposite side of the spectrum I almost bought 1 million because girls just seem stupidly obsessed with it, even though it has some wood and leather notes which I will never truly understand why

I mainly use terre d'hermes for late night meetings without intention (like going to bar or disco) and it feels very pleasant, but hey - depends who you are going out with. Its also more of an autumn perfume, as are most earthy/woody/leather perfumes. Also we are from relatively hot countries - I can just imagine the Nordic dudes can wear earth/wood/leather any day of the week lol
2023-06-11 17:35
Depends quite a bit of the age as well. Even versace eros is god tier if u want some 18yo girls from ze club
2023-06-11 19:26

yeah i've found girls also really enjoy eros, but not as great as 1 million from what i've found. doesn't help that I just plainly don't enjoy eros xd, I just don't really the fresh aromatic of it, kinda reminded of the sea iirc? i don't really remember it, but I just won't get a perfume purely due to it being a girl's pleaser, at the very least I have to enjoy it a little bit. eros flame on the other hand? really wished the perfume was a little bit more long-lasting on me, would've never guessed I'd like such a citric perfume

Yeah. I dont really like it either but it was just an example. Younger girls tend to like more sweet and even somewhat ”girly” scents, eg. Eros, ultra male. I personally prefer some more ”mysterious” scents on myself like Fords tobacco vanille.
2023-06-11 19:59
1 reply
to be honest even I would agree to that, going sweet is just overall the best choice. it just smells good, I like it and everyone else does, otherwise 90% wouldn't use it I guess. one of the perfumes I enjoyed the most to this day was a friend of mine that had the only one for women, that sweetness, the vanilla and especially the caramel just made me feel like I was in heaven, I enjoyed the scent so much that I still consider to this day buying it to use it for myself ahahah. I've been trying to find men's perfumes that had similar notes and accords but I still haven't found it. I've been also really considering ultra male as i saw a ton of good reviews on it and it's being sold at an insanely good price here, 65€ for 200ml. unfortunately it just isn't being sold on physical shops here so I can't try it, what do you think about it?

Try spraying on clothes? For example I found out karl lagerfeld bois de cedre (don't recommend!) sprayed on body goes for like 2 hours, but on clothes - a day or even more
2023-06-11 20:00
2 replies
not sure if I tried it on clothes, but it's a good suggestion although I don't do that very often as I don't want to "lock" some clothes to a certain perfume. I really value perfumes that stay on me for a long time, doesn't need to be something like spicebomb of course, but I look for something that even after leaving the club, I'll still smell it.

Yes, but often no other choice than to spray on clothes if the perfumes don't last long... to be honest it gets annoying to spray on clothes. So I don't think fast-evaporating perfumes are even a good thing... for example Ralph Lauren Polo Red is top, but the mere fact you spray it and after 2-3 hours you are questioning yourself if you had sprayed it just kills it

I don't get the longevity problem with The one edp or edt - I think it must be from you. Versace Dylan blue seasonal or good for entire year? Not really sure of buying it currently (Prada l'homme intense is on the list atm :)))) ), but in future might give it a try
2023-06-12 10:23

The one is known for its lack of longevity. Depends a lot how you spray it though. I can smell it from clothes like days later but it kind of drowns in clubs etc quite fast. Dylan blue goes all around the year imo. Its fresh but with the incense it makes it also really good for dates, clubs, etc. From my personal experience the ones that people around me liked the most are #1 Armaf, #2 Dylan blue #3 Eros. Also they are cheap so you can just blind buy :)

It's 7.5 on parfumo.com/ People on Fragrantica probably downvoted it because Tom Fords get more and more expensive every couple of months xd And always sample these pricy scents because it's very hit or miss, I get the hype for the ones I've smelled but that's not always the case

1) Fairly rated 2) Its awesome, but not a pill for everyone. Also on some people it has longevity problems. 3) Noted. 4) Do you agree with #20 (edp, not edt) 5) Acqua di Gio got reformulated, so rn sticking to the profumo - awesome and I haven't tried profondo, but reviews were in favor of profumo. Which do you think is better from both (if you have tried them)? 6) Noted. I remember i was thinking of buying it, but I read in the reviews and some stated it has problems with longevity, so I went for Guerlain l'homme ideal edp 7) Noted. 8) Noted. 9) Prefer l'homme intense (currently collecting $ to buy it) The honorable mention its a budget gem - it got the attention it deserves, tho.

A friend of mine told me sweat gets toxicity out of the body, so deodorant, blocking sweat, is actually not good for body.

deodorant is fine since it basically just kills bacteria that causes sweat to have an odor. Antiperspirants on the other hand usually have aluminium to block sweating which is not really that healthy.
2023-06-14 17:52
You must eat clean and have low stress. If I eat rubbish my body odor is usually unpleasant. However for years I barely had any smell coz I ate so healthy. Stress is a big factor though, that releases bad body odor coz of toxins and stuff.

True. I certainly smell a lot more when I played CS.GO, which I quit long ago, mostly because the community is without a shred of a doubt the worst I have ever been part of. (I have played online games since 2000.) But CS is by far the best e-sport to watch, so I am around for that. As for food, I properly digest quite a few toxins in general. But I love oatmeal, and If I had to pick a single cheap (as if anything is cheap these days, lol) meal to live of, this would be it.

People needing artificial smells are just revealing to me their artificial presence or personality. Various types of sweat: Some are just plain water to cool down the "machine" when working hard. Other types of sweat include various substances like salt and hormones: These include proteins. When they break down and decay, bacteria of various forms come by and "clean up": Mother Nature leaves NO energy source behind! Whenever THEY shit the whole thing out ... it begins to smell bad for us humans ... and at THAT time it's time for a bath. But all these artificial perfumes ???? Just stop. I can't breathe.

The other day I went into a store and tested the Burberry Hero Eau de Toilette and it instantly became my favorite one, just waiting for my current one to finish so I can buy that one.

so you gotta combo that shit, Anti perspirant and then a decent Cologne/aftershave. I use Loreal Xpert XL Ball (The black one) or Sure Invisible in roll on form for my anti Then I use either Boss Pacific or Jimmy Choo man for the Cologne and it smells amazing, I don't need any crazy expensive Cologne just something that smells decent and works for me.

For anyone who want a nice one for the summer, i recommend you Simone Andreoli - Malibu Party in The Bay. I discovered it last summer, now i am at my second bottle. Of course test before buy.

I don't know about underrated fragrances, but I can recommend these: Memo Eau De Memo, Amouage Beach Hut Man(I absolutely fall in love with this one), Pour Monsieur Chanel, Virgin Island Water Creed, Grey Vetiver Tom Ford, Pour Un Homme de Caron Caron, Champs De Provence EIGHT & BOB for spring/summer. And these: Haute Fragrance Company Black Orris, Maison Martin Margiela's Jazz Club, Encre Noire A L'Extreme Lalique, Franck Boclet Tobacco, Jean Paul Gaultier Le Beau, Montale Honey Aoud, Bentley for Men Intense Bentley for winter/autumn. There is more and I obviosly forgot something but these are 100% deserve your attention.
