Which one do you think will achieve more when they come back?
Overall I think the Astralis team makes more sense and works better but obviously S1mple is still the second best CS player in the world.

To be fair, Borup is a free... so they can't really lose too much with him plus he only has to be better than Xyp was and my cat could fulfil that obligation.

Fessor was also free up until like 1 week ago, and now he is playing for some no name danish "org" that isn't even pro, and honestly im not even sure he is under contract
If Astralis seriously offered him the job he would have accepted it.
Now if i had to get Fessor probably has toxicity or maybe motivational issues because his history of being benched makes 0 sence. Imagine getting benched in Endpoint as it's best player

fessor is a dude who played one map against top20 in his life, b0rup played 200+. only incompetent person would ever consider picking fessor in this situation, simple as this. none of these two is a long term solution, I bet there will be more changes to astralis soon

I wouldn't have picked fessor but im just pointing out his argument isn't very strong.
Also the amount of maps you have played is pretty irelevant of you are talented enough, yes Borup has played 200+ maps but he also has an average rating of 0.95 vs top 20.
B0rup is a dead signing that Astralis are making because they are broke, it's a stop gap. Atleast fessor could have had the potential to become something, he probably wouldn't but atleast there was a slim possiblity.

why would you ever consider gambling on potential when you already have 3 playmakers? dude, astralis need a B apps jumper who isn't making silly mistakes so they can focus on developing the core. as I said, there I am sure there will be more changes in this team anyway, hiring 22yo t3 players won't make it any easier.

this literally has nothing to do with being a playmaker. he is hired to take playmaker spots, it's a fact, he will play rotator roles and make plays along device and blamef, either good or bad ones lol. the two remaining spots on the team are supportive roles which don't require being solid, not flashy. you talk like you don't care about team composition at all.

Okay bro, in what world is BlameF a playmaker? He literally never leads an attack. BlameF is the guy you set up by getting a playmaker.
And clearly you can have teams with 4 "playmakers" i.e. players who aren't just the fall guy. This can be done by splitting good and bad positions on ct-t site or on certain maps. Like how Faze and Heroic do it.
Im just tired of seeing Astralis play it safe. How has playing it safe worked out for Astralis the last 2 years? Astralis' biggest problem has been sticking with old players for too long and not developing enough talent. And now they are getting a Xyp9x 2.0 with slightly better stats. And BlameF igl...................... it's gonna be rough.

you don't understand team CS mate, playing in con = being a playmaker, regardless of your success. in every team there are 3 playmakers and 2 supportive guys.

sure it can but it's a luxury. there are only 2 teams in the world that have such setup, it's faze and G2.
you miss my point entirely. I am not saying Astralis will do good or bad, I have no clue cause it's a brand new team. I am saying picking a safe option (b0rup) over a gamble makes 100% sense when it comes to supportive player. any manager that chooses otherwise needs to be fired asap.

First point is rough bro. You can't just take a well-known sports term and then completely change it to fit your argument and act like it's some unspoken rule. To be a playmaker means to take the initiative in attacking or by setting up your teammates to "score" or in this case i guess kill. BlameF does neither, so he isn't a playmaker. BlameF's role is to clean up and close out rounds not set them up. He is a star player and has some of the best roles but not a playmaker
This whole narrative about "3 playmakers and 2 supportive guys" is wrong, it's an outdated mold that Astralis moved past 5 years ago. The game has changed since then. You mention 2 teams when really it's 4 of the top 5 teams. Who in Vitality is a "supportive" player outside of Apex (Who on certain maps also doesn't play supportively). The modern mold is to have 1 or 2 star players that get all of the best roles and then switch around the supportive elements between all of the other players. Some may take on more than others on different maps but you don't just have 2 shitters and 3 gods. It doesn't work. Just look at how well it's working for C9.
Your "idea" of 3 playmakers and 2 supportive guys sounds more like 2 anchors and 3 roamers. But most top teams atleast give one of their anchors good positions on t-side. Like Magisk and Sjuush who is 2nd entry on t or i mean i don't even know how to describe Rain's role.
I would rather have seen Astralis gamble. Also the bad thing with Borup is that he isn't a sellable asset if he fails. Just another ruined player.
If i had to pitch my idea. They should have signed Regali on a free. Astralis might be in the shitter, but they are atleast better than OG. Take Device off the awp, and let him entry/Anchor which he is very good at, and try out Regali awping. If it doesn't work out you can always switch back the roles. And if that also doesn't work out you can put him on the academy team or resell him.
It is so interesting to me that Device who is arguably one of the most versatile players is almost always exclusively awping. Now would be the perfect time to make some bold changes.

This also applies to Astralis talent, and even though he wasn't the best player in monte he was still good.

Damn man, Thank god I ain't a Karrigan fan, that must've hurt...
With the new Astralis lineup you sort of know what you will be getting. A steady low top 10 team but not a title contender.
With the new NaVi lineup you may as well toss a coin, it'll either be a total disaster or it'll work out extremely well and the NaVi management will look like geniuses. Only time will tell.
