no one has even defined what the problem is. climate has always changed and according to powers that be right now that is bad, ergo we must invest tax money into it so the climate doesn't change all the while making some people much, much richer. like who the fuck is anyone to say "now these are the optimal, global climate conditions"... besides the climate changes so slowly and gradually that people can't even notice it in their lifetimes.
2023-07-21 13:55

The climate has always been changing. But for various reasons, the current change that we're experiencing now is particularly alarming, and that is because in the history of human civilization, the climate has never changed this rapidly. And that's really what concerns scientists. It's not the fact that there is change, but it's the speed of that change.

buuullshit. we only have about 100 years of accurate data and the rest is guesswork based on assumptions about ice cores and tree rings.

You asked to define climate change, I did it for you, stop bringing up irrelevant bullshit and learn some basic science before pretending like you know more than people who actually go out there and do research. Stop sitting at the computer and say anything that is anti-establishment. BTW the scientists who discovered that the climate does slowly change over time naturally are the same people that say we are in a climate crisis. So go ahead, say the scientists are lying while agreeing with their research unknowingly.

"scientists are lying" ---> of course they are fucking lying/omitting information. the reason why they are lying is so deceptively simply you won't even think about it. it's the same reason why when you go to a private doctor at a pharmaceutical & medical company for a checkup and tell them i took this vitamin pill and got sharp pains in my back area (kidneys) and she'll say something bureaucratic along the lines of, if i'll just paraphrase "i'm not really allowed to have an opinion on this pill, because we're selling it and i'm fucked if this pill we're selling fucks you up and i found out about it". also anti-establishment? the fuck. the politicians are not your friends. did you notice the whole world went ape shit crazy because of a flu? all the govs were all too eager to go along with this crisis, because it EXPANDED THEIR MANDATE FAR BEYOND WHAT WAS ORDINARILY ALLOWED. also what #197 said. climate has always changed and some nations fell because of that, but who can really say climate change is inherently bad in the end? well, shit, i know who thinks it's bad. it's the people who have most money.

I mean, science have only about 100-150 years of accurate date. We don't know for certain how rapidly climate has changed in the past, for example North Africa during Roman Empire times was wetter and the region harvested as much wheat as Egypt, but now climate there is different.
2023-07-21 15:23
There is no reason whatsoever to be concerned, nature will adapt.

I'm not saying it isn't we should definitely do something, but e-cars etc.. ain't the way, in my opinion best way is studying nuclear energy more, to get more from uran & how to properly get rid of the waste and end big chunk of coal power stations. But as I said, you can't deny it's peak of irony.
2023-07-21 18:54

Nuclear power was never profitable and has no future as the costs are enormous and can't compete with almost any other way of generating electricity. Without massive subsidies from governments there wouldn't be any nuclear plants. Most energy companies wouldn't even build new ones as there is no economical justification to do that. Right now it's more about when to shut down the ones that u already have and who pays for deconstruction. LNG also hurts the climate more than coal plants so it's peak irony to ship and cool enormous amounts of gas when using coal till enough renewable energy is available would be the only logical solution.

It's not only profitable, but we don't even know how to use whole 100% of the fuel, if anything is the future it's the study of nuclear power. It's clear that you actually don't understand what the actual issue with nuclear power is right now, which I explained already that we haven't studied it enough and we don't know everything we need to get all out of it. And it's already in comparison with coal 1kg to 2500tons
2023-07-21 20:58

Yeah compare only the amount of "fuel" when a nuclear plant is a huge facility that costs billions, has a limited lifespan, then has to be deconstructed for billions. To compare how much energy u get compared to coal as fuel is just ignorant. Coal is cheap as fuck, the power plants couldn't be much cheaper / simpler and don't need excessive maintenance. The personnel needed. Tell me what u think can be improved to make it profitable and competitive?

That I do not disapprove. As I said in #268 the issue is that we need to study in right now, to make it better, we are literally throwing away more than 50% of the fuel

And if there is plenty of evidence? Who cares? As always, nature will adapt. All this alarm is nothing more than a scheme to provide a platform for egocentric politicians, personalities and scientists (who are, by far, the most egocentric people in the world). You are just a lamb that bought all their BS in order to pretend to have a moral high ground where there actually is none. Having said that, it is a good thing that we are pushing for greener energy sources. However, those brainwashed alarmists about stopping climate change are just imbeciles.

Yeah, fossil fuel companies should be better regulated, and bad practices should be punished. There is no reason whatsoever to cause unnecessary damage to our world. Keep in mind that under American law, anyone can file a lawsuit, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. This article is from 2021, are the lawsuits still ongoing? If there is proof that companies hid side effects other than "global warming", they should definitely be held accountable. For me, these lawsuits are being filed as a response to "public pressure" and most likely will result in a big nothingburger, or maybe, some small fines (and by "public" I mean climate activists).
2023-07-21 19:37
+1 yes very good point, that is also the thing that all sane scientists who are not corrupted say that the strongest suit of humanity was always and still is adapt to any situation and environment and with technology currently rising fast there is no way that all these horror scenarios coming true

Maybe the 2021 physics nobel prize given to Syukuro Manabe and Klaus Hasselmann for accuratly predicting how the climate will develop due to climate change 30 years ago. 2023-07-21 12:26
8 replies
It wouldn' t be logical... if that was the case. As long as you are not in a vocational highschool you are still left with those ''elective courses'' that you have to take otherwise you are not able to graduate. I don't know a single person who hasn't taken geography, at least before the tracking process which begins in the third year. Though i agree that making hyperbolic statements regarding the educational system of a country you know fuckall about makes for a more fun time on hltv.

2023-07-21 12:30
does it go into standby mode? or is it not powering up at all? If you cleaned it with excessive force I doubt it is an electrical or electronics failiure, most likely the fan is jammed and the unit can not draw enough current to unjam it by itself. If you turn it on and manually help it get started you might be able to run it for a while.
2023-07-21 12:32

when i try to start it, it does a beep sound. the compartment where cool air comes through opens up, and then closes right after. I don't think it is an electrical failure tho.
2023-07-21 12:55
3 replies
is there any air coming through? maybe you just run out of refrigerant gas. otherwise it could have either a mech fault with the fans or circuit protection was activated. (Sounds silly but it could also be a setting)
2023-07-21 13:23

I think it is just short cycling, which means either low gas pressure, the low pressuree switch being dirty or faulty or simply that it is clogged. I guess if you are not comfortable with diagnostics on your own it is best to just wait for the technician. ( here in spain they savagely overcharge you for servicing the AC so I learnt to do it by myself) Good luck anyway and stay cool bro!\
2023-07-21 13:28

It is a Zibro SP 2041. I've looked up on the internet and found out that Zibro brand split ACs are known for this. You seem to know your stuff so thanks for all the pointers but i think i am not gonna touch it anymore. Scared or ruining it further :D Also yeah it is likely to be a case of circuit protection being activated. The unit convinced itself that something is wrong so it doesn't start after the beep.

Those are rookie numbers son. In my country I have lived indoors in temperature as high as 42 celsius without AC and just a ceiling fan. I also used to play football outside during summers when temperatures "cooled down" to 35 C. Also from my experience 30 Celsius and high humidity is much worse than 40 Celsius with low humidity.

We haven't had aircon for a couple years now, hoping to get it before this coming summer because it gets reaaaal hot here. Not that 39°C isn't hot but if you use a fan she'll be right. If you're really struggling try a cold shower and stand in front of a fan to dry, you'll cool down a lot. Stay hydrated.

the only western country that polute more than india are the degenerate united states ... only theyr existence is a polution for the world allready ...

There are 50 countries in Europe. India's pollution emissions alone are almost exactly the same as that of the whole Europe combined. Not to mention we have northern countries here also which use lots of energy for heating purposes in order to stay alive. Something to think about. Sure when put to perspective per person, India isn't doing all that bad.

this planet cant sustain such a big population at decent standards .... just 100 years ago the population was 1.9b ...u cant get high standards of living around the globe at all... not even like italy .. just imagine that in 1919 Romania had bigger population than alot of countrys today have 10 times bigger population + witch is fuking insane to think about it ... romania has the same population as in 1919 and others multiplyed 10-20times in the same period ... and its going to be even more ppl in 2100

Stop fearmongering. The human population will peak at 10billion and after that flat line. The earth can sustain, WAAAAY more humans than that.
2023-07-22 21:18
that's what I wanted to say brother....we aren't doing great but also not the worst.
2023-07-24 08:45
In the last 200 years, the earth has warmed around 1.8C on average. So even if no one ever put out any pollution, we'd still have exactly the same problems we have today when it comes to heat. It's called summer. People are just panicking about global warming which is barely visible yet. It's a problem and people try to fix it, but it's not something that you'd even be aware of if someone didn't bang it into your head since childhood.

Get two kitchen towels, wet them up a bit. Put them in the freezer. Then rotate between so you always have one in the freezer and one around your neck.

I feel ya! I am in Kazakhstan now, its +38, hot af When I lived in Dubai, in summer it would get to over +50 with insane levels of humidity, but the good thing is that there are ACs everywhere. Hang tight!
