i was more thinking he wants hooxi to stay cos he doesnt want to be igl again and they probably cant get anyone except glaive but glaive will have a buyout so probably not doable.
im glad for whatever reason they stuck with hooxi
if by the end of the season hooxi still underperforms and g2 get another igl we only have to see them with a new igl for 1 year/1 and half year to see if niko is the problem

I know what i just wrote, igl in and igl out no one can fix that team, even coaches walked out of that team. there must be something very wrong at the core of g2 and before i start acusing that niko is the problem and that g2 should drop him, i actually want to give the team a chance to perform, theres nothing wrong with this and we can only see this if hooxi is there for at least 3 seasons (1 and half year) and we would again need 2/3 seasons with a new igl to have the full picture

In reality, EG is a joke, Liquid became an EU team, Cloud9 has a mostly-Russian team, and Complexity has a Norwegian player, so not entirely North American, but the best we have right now.
I'm sad to see national teams in a slump right now, meaning that there's not too many countries with a full national team. However, the new meta is probably going to be international teams, so it'll be very different and interesting nonetheless. I still support my favorite players and organizations / rosters though.

stop pulling facts out of your ass. faze reportedly asked for alex when he was in vitality in june 2020. karrigan was consistently beating faze every time they played during that time in mouz. a year before that mousesports had an amazing season in 2019 with karrigan.

Nexa had some of the most disgustingly bad t sides I've ever seen from an IGL. G2 could easily lose 7 rounds in a row if people weren't getting unexpected entries, because the execs and general coordination was really off. Their only way of playing Train for example was flashing hunter out of main (which worked incredibly well, but got found out eventually) and when that wasn't working they could easily choke 13-2 leads. 2020 Katowice was the rare exception that I remember where G2's t-side looked good, mostly because everyone was hitting their shots and working incredibly well together (deja-vu 2023?).

The team is in a precarious position with the IGL issue currently. HooXi let's them play loose which also means that most of the responsibility for the team's success is also on the individuals more than the system or structure of the team and the caller. You might be able to replace HooXi with a better overall IGL, but you likely won't find a stylistically similar IGL who would also be a firepower upgrade over him.
I would prefer if NiKo wasn't IGL, so I'm all for HooXi remaining in the team for that reason alone.

gla1ve playstyle is not loose, it's the opposite. They already tried that with AleksiB but G2 needs an IGL who let's the player play more freely. Funny enough, apeX would be a good fit probably.
