it's more understandable for a professional player (even more e-sports players, where they don't depend on the physique as in football, basketball, etc.) who are in a position where they are in constant pressure all the time for being an athlete and needing to perform wanting to smoke to de-stress, that's why you see many pro players smoking behind the scenes.

Tabacco only de-stresses because you smoke. That's literally the addiction. You feel stressed because some of the toxins in a cigarette run too low in your body. When you take another cigarette you'll feel the 'stress' leaving. You now associate smoking with stress relieve and have a Pavlovian reaction every time you feel stress.

xantares used to smoke when he was in space soldiers. He quit it at Big. He said that smoking makes him lose concentration and focus so he said he sees some difference.

There was a DaZeD interview with Thorin where DaZeD said if n0thing didn't smoke so much weed and dumb himself down, he could have been one of the best NA players of all time. Thorin also mentioned that other pros have also told him that weed sort of killed his potential as a player.
