Esports athletes who receive a ban will not be able to get permission to travel abroad during martial law to participate in tournaments. They are also prohibited from representing Ukraine in competitions and participating in championships under the auspices of the Ukraine Esports Federation.

don't know, there was a law in place that ukrainians couldn't compete in tournaments with russians, so they woldn't be able to go out of the country. But now I am looking at their socials and they seem to have returned. Maybe they sorted it out with the gov.

I read yesterday that the main points of this "ban" mean that this federation won't be helping the banned players with crossing the border and won't invite them to play for the national team in those tier3 world cups (what a big loss)

Well, it does at least something: now they can't return to Ukraine at all while the martial law is in place, or they will be forced to play only online cups since they are banned from leaving the country for tournaments.
Not that they planned I'm sure, but having working visa/another citizenship/resident card just became much more important to them.

well, just as you said, anyway I don't think they were planning to return until the war is over. Even if they could get those permissions to visit events (navi for example), there could be a lot of other complications, or some random stupid law could appear again (like that one about ru players playing at events. Yes it was changed under the pressure after a mass of critique, but who knew how it could turn out and monte were pretty much fucked by that thing)
Also just pushes wonderful to play in international, or, as second smaller evil, RU teams. Just alienated him from UA based teams, and some 'national' team whatever that means in cs.

i can understand the sarcasm, but sadly things aren't that simple. take palestine-israel for example, this shit been going on for too long now and hasn't improved much at all. its not as simple as one invading another, or one being the aggressor.. each party needs to address each others requirements. russia has made it very clear what is acceptable and unacceptable. conflict happens when both parties cant come to a conclusion. its sad you're affected.
i do not think usa really cares about ukraine's well being. usa has their own agenda, which is typically first and foremost. if you look at usa's war in vietnam (its wrong to call it vietnam war, ok?), what the heck were they there for? to help? USA is just involved in all modern wars, they just happen to be smarter these days, much like how a highschool bully tries to make the entire school hate a student.

A quick history research will tell you how the "big brother" russified the population by banning literature in ukrainian, shunned their language into making people think it was a shitty dialect and didn't let them develop their own culture.
Deported Ukrainians to places like current Khabarovsk and imported russians to regions of Donetsk. Also how they made a derogatory term for Ukrainians and how the current military groups such as the nazis from DShRG Rusich and the ultranationalists call for genocide of Ukrainians and their children.

According to the law, only the players who played official games in one team with russians are banned.
If we imagine that all the Ukrainian players played at least 1 official game since 24.02.2022, than yes, all of them should be banned. Games don't differentiate from real life, and esports is recognized as an official sport in Ukraine.

I feel like civilists shouldn't be held responsible for their government's actions, unless they identify themselves patriotically with their country of course. This goes both ways; banning Russian athletes from competitions just for the fact of being born there is equally as wrong in my opinion. That's ridiculous. I thought we left that "logic" behind after 1945.
