Mindblowing CS transfers
 |
Ukraine DELUSIONAL_VP_FANz
lately all trades are leaked beforehand due to player start following new teammates in twitter or leaking the move to some of these leakers so theres no surprise/hype anymore like the old times. what are some transfers/trades that gave u a mindblown reaction? my top 3 would be: 1) VP was going to play Godsent in a match in which the winner qualified for some tournament. In theory it looked very ez because godsent had pronax and some other bots but then... just 1h before the match the unexpected happened. Godsent traded the 3 bots and added flusha, krimz and jw from fnatic. It was a total mindblowing and shocking moment, i simply laughed at how ridiculous it was and how unlucky VP was because at that time they would always lose against fnatic in important matches 2) Olof and guardian to Faze. It was the first time a ''dream team'' was assembled and one of the first serious international teams in the whole scene. Olof leaving an era team like fnatic was shocking but joining this one along guardian... the hype was over 9000. Olof one of the best players at the moment joining to replace an average player (kio) and then guardian the best awper joining to replace an inconsistent player (allu). The names and the form of the players were very scary 3) device to NIP. Device leaving his family and his brothers to join a non-contender and swedish speaking team... was indeed very very surprising. Not hype because NIP is trash but the move was mindblowing in how such trash org like NIP managed to land device

Device to nip is easily top 1

move was surprising but i dont think its easily top 1. Surprise without hype. The other moves were surprising and hyping

Alright, maybe top 1 if we are talking about the most unexpected or surprising

It was overhyped Everyone were reacting like device left prime astralis or something, they were trash af when he left so it wasnt that much surprising. Its not even close to +guardian and +olof

+1 astralis was garbage at the time

same was sad seeing him leave his bros like that. It was so random that I even panicked and bought tons of device stickers thinking price would go to the moon (mistake)

Device had a girlfriend in Stockholm, moving to NiP kind of made sense. (mindblowing news tho). And his girlfriend cheating on him causing him psychological issues so he couldn't play for many months you can't put on NiP

that whole cheating thing is a straight up rumour, nobody knows what actually happened.

donk to Vitality
2023-08-14 15:29
It was Olof and GuardiaN to FaZe. I saw the whole shit unfold, and I remember many throughout the community were genuinely shocked that this actually happened. And the team did find alot of success, contrary to what many would probably say about that roster these days. Only major blunder was the Boston Major since everyone expected them to easily win it until everyone witnessed a supercharged American C9 go from 0-2 to the grand finals.

yeah that superteam lived up to the hype. Their biggest L and probably what tore the roster apart was the loss against C9

ye barring EPICENTER and ESL one Belo Horizonte, that roster started to and eventually collapsed.

Didnt happen, but woxic+NiKo+huNter in C9 2020 would be deadly.

Oh right that's true, forgot it wasn't immediate. I don't know too many others, since I've been watching since covid, the only really surprising ones I've seen were device nip and the norbert bench, everything else was leaked beforehand.

answering to ur #21 i think for 5th would be s1mple to Liquid. I think it was the first time or one of the first times where a good EU player went to play for a NA team. I dont know how leaked it was but it was surprising and very hype indeed because everyone knew that he would farm NA for sure. I remember watching all those NA ESEA rank S matches every night just to watch s1mple play

Man I never got to experience that but I'm sure it was a fun time for Liquid fans, now if only the didn't choke against luminosity and maybe we'd have a very different legacy for S1mple, and a very different mindset about NA.

unfortunate that you missed those times. It was real wild, i think it was peak CSGO. Both in entertainment (pro scene and streaming), teams with charisma, crazy skilled players and peak popularity with CSGO always being on top of twitch taking turns with LoL and even surpassing them regularly also s1mple in NA... the bullying moment, the s1mple crying in an interview after adreN carried him into major while s1mple played pretty bad, s1mple walking into columbus stadium and cheered like a superstar, the Liquid choke, the s1mple eliminating his dream org (navi) from major, the flying noscope against Fnatic... for me those years (15-16) were and will always be the peak years of CSGO

I've wanted to go back and watch some games recently during the lull between tournaments, but the story lines and the mindset of the game and community just sounds so different. Makes me really wish I had asked for a laptop rather than a ps3 for my 13th birthday haha, then I might have been introduced to CS and the pro scene beforehand, sadly not to be though. I was too much into hockey and soccer as a kid, didn't even think of esports as a possibility before covid.
2023-08-14 16:37
It was eventually karma in the end, Astralis later reshaped the entire pro scene with what they've done while Kjaerbye went to North which not only achieved little to nothing, but eventually shut its doors, despite the fact that their owners are a fucking soccer/football club and film studio. And now no one wants him lmao.
2023-08-14 15:54

yeah. I think the only notable thing that north achieved was that tournament where they won against (astralis?) with MSL lifegaming with awp and being mvp i think lmao ahahha yea the org was backed by Copenhague football club (biggest in denmark) and i think they bootcamped in some rooms inside the stadium with full view of it, it was amazing. Sad to see the org flopped and they eventually left the game
2023-08-14 16:33
1 reply
not just the game, the whole org closed its doors entirely (unless thats what you mean). Maybe they could one day revive and try again once more, but probably not for the foreseeable future unless there's a viable path that allows them to operate for as long as they can.
2023-08-14 16:52

Fnatic/godsent shuffle was really big thing back when it happened, sad it didn't work out too well. Aleksib to NiP was a recent one which came out of nowhere without any leaks prior to the announcement.
2023-08-14 16:03
I remember device to nip, I had just started watching cs and I woke up and saw that Lmao. First roster move that wasn’t leaked in years was the best one ever at the time

Perfecto and papatronic to C9 is still huge for me. And Coldzera to Faze was mindblowing cause it just seemed like such a weird match, even though Cold was a superstar at the time

it frankly wouldn't have been that bad if it wasnt for the fact that he was karrigan's replacement.
2023-08-14 16:23
yea elec+perf to C9 was wild but it was leaked like 1 month before they officially announced it
2023-08-14 16:26
was it c9 at the time? Had like kioshima, autimatic, couple decent players. They let zellsis join the team. A team that should have done well was a complete failure because of that kid. I can’t remember what the whole roster was
2023-08-14 16:19

was that the roster with flusha and golden too? it was so fucking random lmao and i think golden had some kind of disease that couldnt let him fly planes or something

Oh yea it was actually. But they were legit a good team if they just had one more good player instead of zellsis. Was pretty random but they had some decent results despite 4v5 disadvantage

device to nip was a 0101 1001 0010 0100 move from device.
