Because its very wet and sour. Dont get me wrong, I like sour products but tomatoes are just aint it (on burgers). I wanna taste the beef that is filled with fat and cheese + get that onion taste with X sauce. When I have tomatoes on my burger, it only taste tomatoes XD

I even eat it raw sometimes, it's the most delicious vegetable(if you can call it one)
it depends on the rest of the burger, I for one don't like tomatoes with bacon, for example, because any kind of extra crispy/"dry" ingredient will just feel off to me then
I just eat tomato or I just eat burger. No need to be mixing things that go well on their own. That's how you create a... may Allah forgive me for my speech... that's how you create an American.

Also I want to try out meat bread meat but haven't yet figured out how to keep my hands clean
if you use cheap tomatoes, then they make the burger worst. So try use some good tomatoes like:
- oxheart tomatoes
- Green Beefsteak Tomatoes
- Black Krim Tomatoes
- Black Beauty Tomato (my favorit for Burgers)
Generally i conseil you pulpy beefsteack Heirloom Tomato Varieties.
and ofc some habaneros or even better some slices of carolina reaper with some good onion jam, lollo rosso salat, dill pickles cucumbers, on barbecue grilled vegetables & some good lean organic meat (20-25% fat max) some home made sauces, moustard with a kick of garlic, a good old cheddar or a good mozarella and home made bread buns ofc.
Then you can call this a burger.
On real burgers it's fine if you eat it before it gets the bread soggy, but those tomatoes that lay in those big plastic conteiners that are not fresh in like McDonalds and other fast food places, is always gonna be a no from me dawg
